Seeing  how Wrestling is one of the most popular bases in MMA, i thought that it would be goof if i started a thread that  would allow for people to understand and follow the storylines and techniques at the highest level collegiate and international level competition.  I will create a Ranking system and give scouting reports of the top 10 guys at each weight class and provide updated weekly rankings every Monday. The first event i'm covering is NWCA National dual finals between Iowa and Missouri.

banana splits, you don't see that enough in MMA.  This is actually a variation that allows Lauzon to get his bash on.

For Third Place will be Cornell/Lehigh:
125: #2 Nahshon Garret** vs. Scott Parker
133: Mark Grey vs. #11 Mason Beckman*
141: David Logan/ or Dylan Realbuto vs. #20 Randy Cruz
149: #6 Chris Villalonga vs.  Drew Longo
157: #4 Brian Realbuto* vs. #17 Mitchell Minotti*
165: #11 Dylan Palacio vs. Marshall Peppleman
174: George Pickett vs. Santiago Martinez
184: #1 Gabe Dean*(Famous for knocking off 3x Natl champ Ed Ruth at Southern Scuffle as freshman last year, finished 3rd in NCAA"s) vs. #3 Nathaniel Brown
197: #13 Jace Bennet vs. #15 Elliot Rid****(Rid**** is one of the most stalling boring wrestlers I've ever seen so don't expect much from this match)
285: Jacob- Aiken Phillips vs. Doug Vallaro.
BE excited to watch Garret, Realbuto, Palacio, and Dean.  Villalonga doesn't shot much at all and mainly is good on top very inactive on his feet,  Randy Cruz not really good on his feet either but serviceable will go to a clingy based offense and likes to run  legs on bottom but stalls alot. Dean is very mature for a sop****re and is an excellent hand fighter and will transition off to a high snatch single or use his snap downs and get a good double and is very adept at pushing a pace his opponents can't handle. Nathaniel brown is like college wrestling Gleison tibau, i.e. he's huge very hard to finish shots on him and hard to throw him and Brown prefers to block his opponents attacks and just handfight or score a simply go-behind but if he goes upper body he looks to go to a body lock and throw. On top he will put in legs and is very adept at turning but mostly will ride hips and eat up the clock to get his minute of riding time.  Realbuto very active on his feet and finishes well on his shots both on the amt and on his feet and is an exceptional athlete and a tremendous scramble but also a very measured and technical wrestler, just beat #1 Dylan Ness. Palacio is like Dake-Lite in bravado but is more so a fluid takedown artist when he's on and forewarning he's kind of ****y but very entertaining to watch.

Haven't really followed wrestling for a few years now but I see Lavion Mayes on there. Good to see him doing well, used to wrestle him a lot when we were younger and saw him a lot at meets and tournaments during High School. Might have wrestled Sam Brooks when we were younger as well but that's a fairly common name so not sure if it's him, if he's originally from Chicago area then it probably is.

Just looked at some rankings, ton of guys I used to wrestle regularly. Wish my school had some kind of wrestling program so I could have continued competing instead of just doing open tournaments in the off season.

Probably is the same Sam Brooks then, Oak Park sounds right and he was always a high level wrestler. Used to wrestle Klimara and Zane Richards (same conference as me in HS but I had shot past him in weight by then) in grade school, they have always been a studs. As mentioned used to wrestle and see Lavion since we were in the same conference in High School. I don't think I ever wrestled either of the Dardanes' but they were always placing high in big tournaments. Idk if you plan on doing international rankings but I know Alli Ragan has been doing pretty well for herself, used to wrestle her when I would wrestle up an age group for grade school.

Now I can't wait for off season tournaments to start in a few weeks so I can find out how out of shape I am lol

Yeah OPRF is the #1 high school in the country. Top guys for them now are Larry Early, Isaiah White,  and Kamal Bet.  If I were you I might start trying to train at regional training centers if you get the chance.

Klimara is doing very good but I do know he does have an issue of drug abuse highlighted by his arrest after losing the round of 12 match to Cory Clark where he was caught in a night club at 12:30 A.M drunk and with .21 grams of cocaine. Happy to see him rebounding nicely.
