I really want Lauzon to win, but I really want to get back above the 60% mark in predictions. I'm currently sitting at 59.9% and I think Lauzon's loss will push me right over.

He already has caused me to doubt my own masculinity during several grappling sessions when I trained in Bridgewater in 2008.

Here's the thing: if Lauzon comes out physically and mentally like he did against a much easier opponent in Gabe Ruediger, he can pressure Sotiropoulos into making mistakes, which he can then capitalize on. Unfortunately, I think Sotiropoulos is going to be cool under the pressure Lauzon breaks, and he's got the reach and boxing skill to pepper Lauzon from a distance. His guard is also probably the best in the division, so he's going to be threatening from every position in this fight.

No matter what, I'd be shocked if this didn't earn a Fight of the Night award. I'll be rooting for Joe, but I'm sticking with my original pick.

I love J-Lau and I'm probably pulling for him a little cause he's such an exciting fighter, but Sots has proven to be very difficult to find a weakness on, and I think he slowly takes control of the bout after some crazy moments.

It's not much of a leap to predict this to be fight of the night. Sotiropoulos has yet to lose in the UFC and should be able to come out on top of a competitive and exciting fight.

Lauzon 10-9, very close. Lauzon can't hang out on his back.

Not sure if that was an adrenaline dump or what but Joe just gassed himself out in that crazy first round. Didn't look the same in R2 at all.  Good win for Sot but I don't think he can hang with the best of the best.

This was my post in another thread prior to the fight
"Lauzon always comes out really strong and fades as the fight goes on. If Sotiropoulos survives the initial assault then he can come back and win. So far when Lauzon has failed to finish he's failed to win. He took an early lead against Stout then got out pointed in rounds 2 and 3 and lost a decision. I believe Sotiropoulos is the technically better fighter and if he can survive Lauzon's aggression he will win."
Lauzon gassing is pretty much what I expected in the fight. It has happened on multiple occasions with Lauzon. He doesn't know how to pace himself in a fight. Which is always why he looks so good early. He throws everything he has into the first 3 minutes and then he's done.

You know how depressing it is to get a perfect on the only fight in which a guy you really like is fighting? Oh well, I'm over it.
