His loss was because he is possibly the most predictable fighter ever.

I think the thing to blame for the loss is yourself, Diego. He refuses to change up the way he fights. I think it's time for him to consider hanging his gloves up.

I don't know what happened to Diego Sanchez but if you go back and watch his early fights in the UFC he fought nothing like he does today. That Diego had a lot of technique and was not nearly as predictable. The fights with Parisyan, Diaz and Riggs are examples of that.

You wouldn't think this was Diego Sanchez but it is, here's the old Diego

Something changed after that BJ Penn fight, and then that Hathaway fight happened and he was not the same technique wise IMO.

He may have been passed up. It is very hard to stay relevant for 9 years in this sport. There is new blood as the time.

sanchez is a joke. Just shut up and accept your ass beating like a man, you should be on a 5 fight skid as is, too bad the judges are blind and gave you gifts against Gomi and Kampmann.

Time to retire and quit ignoring reality.

EDIT: oh boy here we go, people downvoting me again cause I dont condone excuse makers. I am noticing a trend, excuse making is popular around here.

The bum got whipped handily, he needs to shut his mouth and move on. Its completely classless to try and take credit away from your opponent by making excuses like this. Especially when in most peoples eyes won 1 fight in 5 years.

This guy and Big Nog should go out to dinner sometime, they would get along great

I can't remember a time when Diego lost and he didn't have an excuse. I thought he lost to Gomi and Kampmann too.

The guy is not relevant anymore. Which is fine. He's kind of grandfathered in. He'll get fights with the UFC as lond as he wants to fight. But I don't want to see him against these young prospects. I hope they stick to booking him against guys like Jim Miller, Gray Maynard, and Pat Healy.

However I think this latest loss might send him back to WW where he doesn't have to cut the weight.

I would have to disagree with him being a ****** fighter but yeah the excuses thing is definitely getting old.

Step 1: Train Hard

Step 2: Cut weight

Step 3: Rehydrate after weight cut

Step 4: Eat raw beef & raw egg

Step 5: Get sick

Step 6: Fight like ****

***! Why put your body thru a weight cut when it's at it's weakest and then replenish with a raw beef/egg meal. Diego made himself sound like he was back in elementary school for doing something this stupid. It reminds me of Chris Leben eating pounds of candy after his weight cut in his Brian Stann fight. WHY!

The Diego Sanchez problem is that he´s not good enough to be competitive in the UFC, but he´s good enough to BE in the UFC. Where do you go from there?

I disagree. I think his problem is he fights like an idiot. If he fought smart he be a lot more dangerous. The guy has an iron chin and very very good ground game and cardio. He should push people against the cage and go for take downs. He however foolishly decides to strike with people all the time in the middle of the cage. If he just pushed people again the cage and went for take downs he do much better. Even if he could not get people down, he have a better chance striking against the cage because his opponent have less room to move. Standing in the center of the cage swinging widely is just ********.

The Diego who beat Diaz, Koscheck, Florian was.amazing. He gave MARCELO GARCIA.fits in.a.no gi.match. Diego.lost alot of.muscle.mass, stopped.being.the.scrambler.that.made him so.great, his striking devolved.and he fell in love with brawling and.he just seems to have lost a lot of fight IQ. I respect Diego he was once amazing, he has incredible heart and hes a real person....He's been bashed in the head a lot and isn't  what he was...enough.said.

I just called my Doctor and asked about food poisoning symptoms.  She said "Did the person stand in one spot flailing their arms wildly without much movement of the head even when facing danger?".  Pretty much nailed the food poisoning symptom on the head and she didn't even know it was about a fighter.  She knows her ****.
