Most people who watched the fight thought hendricks won, but experienced mma fans should of known how judging works and it shouldn't have been a surprise, and it looks like gsp is really walking away, i would if i was him.

I agree Trev, I was not surprised by GSP winning at all, it was a close fight.

I Gave GSP The 2nd, 3rd, And 5th Round ... He Out Struck Hendricks In The Second And Hendricks Took GSP Down Late In That Round But GSP Got Up After About 15 - 20 Seconds. That Take Down Was The Most Significant Thing Hendricks Did In The Second Round

I don't see how anyone thought GSP won that fight. Hendricks got rounds 1,2, and 4.

@Franklin  OK.  He didn't win ALL of them but he most certainly won most.  He completely answered all of Hendricks shots with his own.  He jabbed him all night.  I will admit that Hendricks did more damage, but that is not winning overall.  He wobbled GSP.  But GSP stayed on point and countered all night as well as jabbed.

I was generalizing, as I normally do.  But GSP showed the world that his striking was as good as Hendricks.  Hendricks could NOT knock him out.

But I will say I was wrong about a lot of things, too.  I said that the fight would be determined on the ground.  Boy was I ever wrong about that one.  I was shocked GSP couldn't take him down at will.  And when he did he couldn't hold him down or control him.  I was shocked!

But GSP's critics won't concede a god-damned thing.  They all wanted him to lose and hoped he get knocked the **** out.  Well, GSP showed them he's hard to KO.  One of the times Hendricks gained top control was due to a slip, not a take-down.

But I stand by my assertion, GSP won most of the exchanges.  Cosmetic facial damage made it look worse than it really was.

Watching the fight in real time I had Hendricks winning every round. Well I did the thing everyone loves to do so much, I watched the fight again with the sound off.. didn't make much of a difference. Hendricks won 4 rounds to 1. Only scored the 4th for GSP.

If you thought this fight was close in any way,you don't know what you're talking about. There was a big difference in the punches Hendricks threw compared to GSP's.Hendricks looked like he came out of a shower for God's sake.

I'm surprised at how many St Pierre votes there are.  I expected it to be like 5:1 in favor of Hendricks.

Personally I thought Hendricks won.

It is all about the first round. I thought Hendricks won, but i have to watch it again.

Im also surprised to see people saying GSP's jab was effective. I still have to watch it again, but watching the fight live i thought the exact opposite. The fact that Hendricks is southpaw took away the effectiveness of the jab and GSP only got close to landing it, like close enough so that a judge would think that he landed the jab but it seemed to me like he was actually just hitting the arms and shoulder or just plain air.

In a five round fight, if the jab was really effective, the opponent's face would show you. The jab is the punch that makes so many faces swell up in a long fight.

Either way it's upsetting how negative people are in this sport when it was a close fight IMO. I have no problem with either side and wouldn't argue if the belt was now strapped around Johnny's waist. But I don't think GSP enjoys fighting anymore. And I think reactions like this and like Dana's contribute to that feeling.

Dude just broke the all-time UFC wins record and is the best or second-best fighter of all time and just gets thrashed because he won a close and controversial call. Hopefully they rematch though.

I can understand scoring the fight 3-2 for Hendricks but how can anyone possibly score every ******* round for Hendricks?

Round 3? Round 5? Especially round 5, how in the **** was that Hendricks?

This is just like the Jones/Gus fight, you people are so desperate to see the chance lose that in a close fight you'll scream robbery and run around like headless chickens. Give me a break.

Agreed. The fight was a clear 48-47, but who earned that score is up for debate.

A lot of the problem goes back to the scoring system.  GSP gets crushed in round 2... how can that be considered equal to a more even round 1?

There should be more 10-10's for even rounds.   10-9's for close rounds.  10-8's for one-sided rounds.  And 10-7's for complete beatdown rounds.

I agree with Gregory. ¨9 or less¨ shouldn´t mean almost definitely 9, and maybe, MAYBE 8 if the round was brutal

@gregory i thought about disguising the 10-point must system, using words instead of numbers.
so the judges spreadsheet would have options like: draw, close round for fighter X, clear round for fighter X and dominant round for fighter X.
I think the numbers are not helping judges think straight.
