The next season's UFC competition is here.

The UFC seasonal competitions are perhaps the most difficult to win. Information is abundant on almost every fight: betting odds, fight video and more will level the playing field. The winners will need to out-wit and out-analyze the rest of the website.

While few members are criminally insane enough to pick hundreds of regional fights in a single weekend, there are vast numbers willing to come on and throw down on some UFC picks.

Will it be a black belt to bring home the big prize, or an unknown orange belt who's been anonymous to this point but knows how to crush it on Zuffa cards? Only time will tell.

Reigning UFC competition champions:
- Spring 2012: tarzan
- Summer 2012: Kalibo
- Autumn 2012: chadderall
- Winter 2013: michaelsilva
- Spring 2013: Rahito

In addition to the Tapology points there is $500 of cold, hard cash given to the competition winner.

Pick well and good luck.

My personal goal is to make the top 100.  Doing better would be great, but top 100 would be quite satisfying.

@bk the best that the winner did in the last contest was 3rd place

http://www.tapology.com/competitions/76-ufc-spring-2013/leaderboard/rahito

And even that was mixed in with coming in 944th on one of the events.

I was in the top 100 and was happy , then stunk it up on the final card.

Alright, 335th is not where I want to be, but I think I can steadily climb up unless I have a disaster card.

There were a ridiculous number of pickers for yesterday's event. I don't expect every one of them to make all the picks for each UFC.

1932 who had at least one "surviving" pick.  You can see it if you look at your pick history or your contest stats:

http://www.tapology.com/competitions/94-ufc-summer-2013/leaderboard/soccerkick

The pre-fight counter was up to something like 2020.  But 100 or so were discarded from the final tally because they didn't actually have a pick in on any of the 11 fights that took place.  Something similar happens every card.

Either way, it was a couple hundred more than the previous high-water mark.  If you look at your Spring UFC contest stats, UFC 159 was the previous high if 1781:

Being outside the top 1000 is not fun.

The last guy to win the competition averaged about 595 points per event. I figure it will be a little higher this time considering the extra points (15) if you get the round or method right now. Plus, the UFC seems to be making a habit of 13 fight events now. Of the six fully scheduled cards for the summer competition, 5 of them have 13 fights, the only one that did not was last night's card with 11. The UFC averaged 12 fights per card during the Spring competition. I'm guessing, if you want to win the summer competition, you probably need to average around 650 points.
