Overall, this is an exciting card. IMHO, I think that Chael Sonnen's weaknesses play right into Shogun's strengths. I think that the oddsmakers forgot about Shogun's very underrated and often overlooked submission game vs. Chael Sonnen's submission defense.
I think that if Shogun doesn't win this fight, it might be time for him to hang it up. Same could be said for Sonnen. I had to go with Shogun. I really like both fighters, but there's a part of me that keeps hoping the Shogun of old will come back and demolish everyone at 205. A pipe dream, maybe, but in this world, anything is possible.

I know there's a case to be made that he prefers to strike, but I still think he's gone for enough ankles and knees just since he's been in the UFC for him to have at least one more submission if he was some kind of BJJ uber-stud. He usually uses his BJJ to sweep and get back up when taken down. I'm not saying it's crap, but neither are any of those you might think are underrating his BJJ. He's good, he's been doing it for a long time, but it's not underrated, I think most people know that he has good BJJ and I don't think he has amazing BJJ, so he's rated perfectly, imo :)
On the other hand, now that he's not exactly in the "knocking dudes out left and right" stage of his career, Chael Sonnen might be just the guy for him to prove me wrong on taking into consideration Chael's knack of getting submitted.

Sonnen will wrestle Rua like no other, look at who Rua's fought in the UFC and tell me which ones can actively pursue the takedown the way Sonnen can. Jon Jones doesn't count by the way, 'cause he just decided to beat Rua down with anything.

Shogun looked really tired in the later rounds vs Gus, Vera, and Hendo. If Shogun gasses hard I think Chael could get a choke.
Not sure if I'm brave enough to pick the fight that way.

I think that's the exact reason I leaning more toward Sonnen. Chael isn't Vera, if this gets pass the 3rd there's no way Rua has anything left after 15 minutes of Chael pressure.
Rua needs to finish this or at least win 2 rounds within the first 15 minutes, imo, after that he's in Chael's world.
