Instead of him fighting Mir I'd have him fight Werdum, who with his improved striking is a better, more dangerous version of Mir.

Barnett vs Werdum would be a better fight but Barnett vs Mir is a way bigger fight. Werdum's English isn't exactly the best whereas Mir and Barnett would most likely be at each others throats leading up to the fight.

It's kinda a moot point anyway though since Werdum is fighting Nog.  Mir doesn't have anything booked.  That's the fight to make.

His fight is only 2 weeks out though, I say wait for the winner of Nog/Werdum because either one would be a great matchup with Barnett and the winner of that bout is more relevant than Mir at this point.

I think it's silly to pit Barnett against Werdum, Frank Mir will beat him and then that fight makes no sense.

Agree with @Live

However, I wouldn't be against Barnett taking on a lower ranked opponent before fighting a top 5er for a title shot.

Barnett will tear through alot of HWs.. And quite honestly, I'd prefer him to have a low level guy first. Show the casuals what Barnett is all about.

Barnett vs Gonzaga.

Gonzaga is not a no name and isn't a terrible fight.. But I do think Barnett would win that fight, and it is quite interesting on paper. It would be a good introduction.

Barnett should fight a low level guy but that guy should be Mitrione. I loved watching him get knocked the **** out but now I'd love to see him get his arm tore off by Barnett.

Bobby Green did everyone a favor by getting rid of ********** Volkmann, now I think Barnett could play the role of Green and get rid of another gigantic ****** aka Mitrione.

Josh Barnett ‏@JoshLBarnett 53s

The enemy has returned. I've signed w/the @UFC & no heavyweight is safe. They're all due a lesson in violence from the Warmaster. #ufc #mma

The quickest fight to make would probably be Barnett/Palelei. I would rather see Barnett get a fight in first before he fights Mir.

Agreed, let him get comfortable in the Octagon again and then unleash THE WARMASTER!
