@ MadMikeXD - That's the whole point. The round was close to being over. Why not let it go into the second to see if Jones could've continued what he had started?

@ jay: being out or finished is not what decides stoppages according to the rules. i didnt make them and i am aware that there are stoppages that are way more decisive than this one. still, according to the rules the stoppage was good and with the knowledge of the fightgame that you claim you have, you should also realize that a couple of more seconds wouldnt have helped sonnen but rather caused him some more pain and damage on his gangster face.

. The only reason i'm upset by his possible retirement is because he's an awesome fighter with so much to offer. He doesn't have to be champion for us to watch his fights, and care. My opinion of Chael Sonnen would be higher if his opinion of himself were a little bit lower. This is a fight that quite honestly should never have even happened

In Tito's second fight with Chuck Liddell, that fight was allowed to continue. Why? Because it was a championship fight. Why not in this occassion?

Chael was semi defending but I think it was a ok stoppage, those elbows are scary to watch just sitting here. Imagine standing a foot from him watching those land, prolly played a part in it as well.

@ stange - Great point that is hard to argue on your last post. Had to give you thumbs up on that, but I still think that it was a premature stoppage, and Sonnen could've continued.

@jay: dude, how about you provide some prove or an actual reasoning for the claim you keep on making instead of stating how much of a fight expert you, your friends or joe rogan are?!

@Jay are you really comparing this fight to that one, as though this were a legitimate championship fight between the best in the division? This fight was an abomination.

@ stange - I wish I could explain it or prove it. It's one of those things that is actaully based on opinion. I've seen Sonnen in far worse positions than in the fight tonight, and he ended up coming out on top. It's probably based more on opinion on my side, but I think that ref should've let the fight continue longer to see if he was actually finished or not. I wish I could explain it better, but I can't. Only seeing as many boxing matches, MMA fights, and kickboxing matches as I have could make someone else understand. There's something that you see when a fighter is finished. I can't explain it. You just know, and IMO, Sonnen wasn't finished. I wish I could explain it better, but I can't.

I've never seen a technical decision before and tonight we got 2 of them. So can someone explain how they come to a technical decision instead of just labeling the fight as a NC?

I can't believe a gif of Jones hugging himself in shock hasn't turned up yet. I wouldn't wish that **** on anyone but man did he completely go downhill after Rogan pointed at his toe. hehe

@SRA if the injured fighter is ahead on points? No, because Belcher was the injured fighter.

Wow, that took awhile. Left to watch PPV with a friend after the 1st 2 prelims and just read the rest of the thread.

Love  UFC 159: iNJuries

Jaffa was on fire last night.

While Healy/Miller was deserving, I thought Siler/Holobaugh was better.

Villante got hosed but it might've been the best thing for him because both he and OSP looked like ****.

I think Jaykool was successful in getting hammered last night. I thought the stoppage was a little too early also but mostly because it robbed us as the fans, Jones, and Sonnen of a more definitive end. This could've been the greatest upset of all time, Jones could've possibly hid the injury & continued (doubt it), or most likely he would've legitimately finished it in the 1st and now we'll never know. Hardly the worst stoppage but a tad too early.

So I don't know if anyone else noticed this but it seems like maybe Bisping's fingernails atleast on his left hand were kinda long. It looked like Blecher got a scratch on the right side of his neck, his right ankle and then the cut on his right eye.
I'm not saying Biping did anything like that on purpose. I just kind of thought that could of been what happened.
