I think Gus is the real deal. He'll beat Mousasi in Sweden.

I'm picking Mousasi by sub.  Gus has been on an absolute tear but I think too many people are underestimating Mousasi.  That chin of Gustafsson holds up like a son of a ***** but Mousasi can sub him if he gets it to the ground.

Mousasi is solid but his record is mostly padded and I think Gustaffson will be able to repeatedly take down Mousasi and win a decision.

I like Gegard Mousasi but Alexander Gustafsson is just too big, too strong, and too determined.  They will probably have the winner of this fight face the winner of Rampage Jackson vs. Glover Teixeira.

I predict Gustafsson will have to fight Glover Teixeira.  And I think Gustafsson will beat Teixeira, and ascend to the Top Contender status.

The LHW title shots are now falling in the sideshow / circus arena.  Belfort and Sonnen were not the result of a logical process to find contenders.  When a title holder is this dominant, confusion ensues.

As good as Mousasi is, Gustafsson will just pick him apart just like Shogun.

I agree with most here. As much as I like Mousasi, I think he is more exciting than good and Gustaffson will pick him apart in what will be similar display to what Alex-Shogun was.

I think the no brainer here was Mousasi-Shogun, but what do I know, I'm no Silva or Shelby.
Hopefully we'll get to see it after this one tho.

That one would be interesting too, as we know how Gust struggled with Davis' wrestling a few years ago. It would be interesting to see if he's come a long way since then and is now a true threat to the title holder or if he's just another good striker in the division that will be neutralized by better wrestlers.

I'm picking Gustaffson, but I'm not sure. Gustaffson's striking is definitely top notch, but Gegard shouldn't be underestimated.

Gegard is a very cagey and experienced veteran, and he's still young.  His only recent loss was from 5 rounds of wrestling with King Mo.  He's never been out struck in a fight.  And that's not only in MMA, but including his K1 fights.

Also, Gegard is probably a better grappler.  It's unlikely he'll be able to get Alexander down, but if he can, he'll probably have a good advantage there.

With all that said, I still think Gustaffson's slick movement and take down defense will give Gegard a lot of trouble.  It should be a great fight though.

Prediction: Gustafsson  |  KO/TKO  |  Round 1

No way Mousasi escapes the first round. Not to his discredit, he is definitely game and can compete in the UFC, but he was beaten by King Mo (albeit controversially), who was ground to a pulp at the hands of Feijao, who was beaten senseless by Hendo, who loss to Rua, who lost to Gustafsson. A>B>C is not always valid, but it is safe to say that it would fit here. Gustafsson is too powerful, fast, and rangy to be beaten by Mousasi. This is going to be ugly, but it will be over quickly. Mousasi will get jabbed apart early on. He will bull rush Gustafsson, who is gonna catch him and finish

Mousasi has never been KOd, just throwing that out there and he is arguably the better striker. The Mo fight has little relevance here because Mo literally won off of Takedowns and his wrestling >>>>> Gus wrestling

It seems like Guss is the "safe pick", but i dont know. Gayguard can kinda shock the world in Sweden, and pick him apart the whole fight. Guss only has a 1 inch reach advantage over him, and technically he is a better striker given his experience

Although I'm picking Gustafsson because he is so big and strong, I don't think this is a no-brainer.  I'd give Gegard about a 35% chance of pulling off an upset.

I actually might be right around what Bill is thinking.  I'd say Gustafsson wins this fight 2/3 times, so although I'm picking him to win, it wouldn't surprise me to see Mousasi take it.  I think it's gonna be one hell of a fight regardless of the outcome.

I am still holding out for Gustaffson versus Jon Jones so I m hoping he takes this by either KO or Decision.
