Welcome to the dark side of my mind. These things exist, and though a bit morbid it does kind of lighten the somber mood of the inevitability of death.
To Enter
Players will need to compile a list of 13 celebrity (It has to be someone well known, not, your neighbor) picks who they believe will keel over between January 10, 2013 and December 31, 2013.
Game Type/Scoring StructurePlayers will receive points equal to 100 minus the celebrity’s age at the time of death. Celebrities aged 100 or older will be worth one point.
Bonuses
Any unnatural death (accident, suicide, overdose, etc.) 25 points
"First blood" (First correct prediction) 50 points
Untimely deaths (Major Holidays/Date of Birth of deceased) 100 points
If you'd like to enter simply submit a list of 13 people by January 10th on this page. I'll keep track of **** and whatnot.

Great idea. I suggest we keep it simple, but keep our options open. I've tried doing death pools before, but when I don't understand the point system, I lose interest.

I was thinking maybe a "first blood" bonus for the first correct prediction. I don't want to get too detailed with it, because some of them can become ridiculous and disturbing obviously.

@Cthulhu: bonuses are good, as long as someone keeps track of them (and we don't have like 1000 bonuses)
First death, Dec 31st death, celeb dies on birthday are good.
I also say we choose only a few causes of death for bonuses like suicides, ODs, gun shots, etc.
It gets complicated when you do a bunch of bonuses. But one fun one I heard of (and messed up if you are from Ireland) was called "bloody sunday" where you randomly pick 5 sundays beforehand and if one of your celebs died on one of those preselected days, its worth a ton of points.
For the sake of PC, we can do bloody tuesday, if we were so inclined.
Just some ideas. Pick what you like, do away with the rest.

Hm, I like them all other than the picking 5 days thing. I'll add them to the rules. 25 point bonus if the death isnt of natural causes?

Suggestion: As far as multiple people picking the same person, I think we allow it, but if someone starts blatantly copying another entrant, they get the ax.

@hiblet. Agreed. Pretty sure they're gonna overthrow Assad and I know Mubarak is on the brink of death. I almost picked Richards too.
