@ trevpicks - in what world did Edgar win that fight in any way, shape, or form?

Look at Edgar's leg, eye, nose, and mouth. Look at Aldo's face. Even the fight numbers showed Aldo landing more significant strikes throughout the fight. The only rounds where Edgar outscored Aldo is round 3 and 4, and round 3 could've been scored for Edgar because of the takedown, not because of strikes.

Also, I could tip tap a ************ 500 times, doesn't mean I'm winning the fight. Rounds are scored by EFFECTIVE striking, EFFECTIVE grappling, Aggression, and Octagon Control. Aldo kept the fight where he wanted for the majority of the fight = Octagon Control for Aldo in rounds 1,2,3, &5. Aldo did more significant damage = Effective striking in rounds 1,2,3, & 5. Edgar got Aldo down in the second round, but couldn't hold him down for anytime, or do anything with it, 3rd round, Edgar got him down, but didn't maintain control for very long. The only effective grappling that Edgar had in the fight was the 4th round, and all 3 judges gave him that round.

ALDO WON THE FIGHT

I thought the Edgar/Benson fights were closer, more debatable than this fight.  Aldo obviously picked him apart until the fight tightened up at the end.  Edgar/Benson were even throughout.

@ Mybbygotsauz - how is it debatable? Edgar/Penn I, Edgar/TysonGriffin, Edgar/Maynard II, Edgar/Henderson I & II are debatable........................all day long. Hell, Diego Sanchez/Martin Kampmann, Forrest Griffin/Stefan Bonnar I, Machida/Shogun I, Machida/Jackson, Penn/Fitch, Parysian/Diaz, and Couture/Rizzo are all examples of debatable decisions. Aldo/Edgar IS NOT debatable by these or any other standards in this world or any other world. **** Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, and Helen Kellar can see that.

2 rounds to 2 and a close other round sounds like the fight could go either way. Aka debatable

I understand even Diaz/Condit being debatable, but not Aldo/Edgar.

Aldo/Edgar = a great fight between two of the best p4p fighters on the planet, but tonight, Aldo was the better fighter. I would love to see a rematch, because Edgar has given Aldo the greatest fight of his career, and I do think it's possible for Edgar to beat Aldo. It just didn't happen tonight. If the scores don't tell you that, then the damage done by Aldo, and fight stats should.

Edgar fought a courageous fight, but he clearly came up short. The best thing for him to do is, watch the fight, figure out where he went wrong, and figure out what he can do to ensure his victory, if he gets a rematch. Most of all...................quit leaving the fight in the hands of the judges.

You can debate it all you want...  but you're in a pretty narrow minority.

Most observers are calling it for Aldo. Not to mention all 3 judges, and the stats-driven system from FightMetric.
