I'm starting to believe the conspiracy that they're all sandbagging to screw this event and just go to the UFC. Glad I didn't buy tickets yet.

Yea, make a ****** "last SF" card, and say "**** you Showtime", and put all of them in the UFC pot. That way we will have alot of good match ups.

No way they have the Cormier fight in the main event. The fight he is in is match making at its worst.

DC fighting that guy is a crime in itself. They should just bring him over, but they wanna feed him a can. Kinda hope it backfires, and he gets his ass beat, and lose

I don't get why they would even do that.. I mean Cormier had all the hype in the world after beating a huge name like Josh Barnett, knowing he is going to come to the UFC they either: A) should have just brought him in coming off the W over Barnett or B) Give him a decent name. I mean, if he beats this guy whom I legitimately forget his name, then what does that do for him? There was all this talk about him wanting to fight Jones.. If he wins then what, is he still gonna come into the UFC calling out huge names like Jones? No. It just makes his eventual UFC debut less climactic.

Wasn't the thing with Cormier was that they were contractually obligated to have him fight for Strikeforce once more after the GP?

I seriously doubt that it is just that easy to pluck Cormier off the Strikeforce card and put him in the UFC. Also, I was pretty sure that Showtime had certain names that had to stay with Strikeforce. I agree with Dakej though about the sandbagging.

I have a feeling a lot of guys are getting "injuries" so they will be either 1 fight away from a title shot or immediately awarded a titleshot the instant they enter the UFC. If Strikeforce is going down, why would the risk it on the last event. Look at what happened to Benson Henderson. Lost the WEC title and title shot and had to work his way up for a title shot, while Pettis was suppose to get an immediate title shot, until Maynard/Edgar II happened.

the interview i watched Melendez talking about "thinking about his career" and **** makes me kinda believe they could be faking the injuries to debut on the UFC earlier. I still hold out some hope that thats not the case as i think thats both stupid and dishonest. look, both of these guys fought a lot a strikeforce so one more time wouldnt hurt your career plus its the last one, it historic.
and specially for Melendez, he would have a chance to have an impressive win before going to the UFC.
his last fight was too close (i thought he lost, but it could have gone either way).

I don't think they are faking injuries, but more so taking injures that they have dealt with (put off) for a long time and using those to say they need to pull out, since doctors do have to confirm them before they pull out.
