The UFC is his meal ticket towards creating a financially secure life for himself, but his body can't hold up and all these injuries have destroyed him. In desperation to fight healthy and recover from injuries he used steroids and looked good. Got busted. Was man enough to admit that he did it, unlike many other fighters who deny deny deny. Since he admits it, the NSAC throws the book at him with a year-long suspension, whereas the lying deniers sneak their way into getting reduced suspensions.
I don't condone the steroids, but the guy is just trying to survive and make a living as his body breaks down.
