I am surprised that no one has started this thread yet.

I know this is an MMA website but I bet that there are some Boxing Fans out there.

I just love the sport of fighting in general and I have been raised by boxing.

So in this Thread we can discuss the "Sweet Science"

such as
Past Fights
Upcoming Events
Favorite Fighters
and Historical Figures in the Sport

Because like MMA in the US, Boxing started out illegal. But where it took MMA less than 25 years to gain the General populations approval, It took boxing over 100 years.

Discuss and have fun.

Great right hook by Wilder. Timed perfectly cause of Szpilka throwing his left as well.

That KO was amazing.  Good job by Wilder.  Also he is a real class act to check on Szpilka.

Great timing and KO for WIlder, but If I was Wilder's camp, I would reevaluate my priorities. Szpilka brought some heat.

Wilder does seem like a good guy.
I think he would beat Klitschko if he fights again.

PBC on FOX tonight. First fight was fun. Unsatisfying way to end, but still a fun fight, especially for a HW fight that went more than 3 rounds.

I thought the fight was pretty bad. On one hand, you have a guy slower than Molasses in Brazeale, I literally thought to myself during that bout "Hmm, Maybe UFC Heavyweight's aren't as bad and unathletic as I thought" and then you had Mansour a 43 yearold brawler who looks like he eats steroids with milk for breakfast just winging haymakers and coming forward. It was obvious, if Mansour didn't get the knockout he'd either lose a decision or eventually get stopped his output was not sustainable. It was exciting but neither guy was very good or talented, not much was put on display.

Guerro vs Garcia was pretty good. Garcia looked slicker than I expected, even though I thought he'd win. There were points during the fight where I thought he should have followed up on some of his stiff counters but they both let everything go in that final round, it was a beautiful display of pride and respect.

I don't remember the names of the other fight, Sammy was the first name of the military boy I think and Martinez was the other. The handspeed, fitness, athleticism, Sammy clearly outmatched his opponent by a large margin it was apparent after the first round and there weren't many surprises after that.

Sounds like Canelo is ducking GGG and that Sergei Kovalev vs Andre Ward is going to be put on hold for a year or so (if ever). But we do get Oleksandr Usyk challenging for the Cruiserweight title against Krystof Glowacki, trust me when I say Oleksandr is the best Cruiserweight in the world right now and Glowacki is a true warrior who upset the longest reigning Cruiserweight champion to win the title.

PS: That was no doctor stoppage, Monsour did not want to get off the stool, he quit, potentially had a broken jaw. Mansour quit, the doctor did not stop it. In that bout when the boxer says he doesn't want to get off the stool, the fight is over, arrividerci baby. Too bad that ref wasn't there when Tim Kennedy needed him.

Browne with a pretty decent upset over Chagaev. Spong beat some Georgian too.
