It is pretty sad to see how much Machida's bandwagon has emptied since he lost back to back fights.  He's still an incredible fighter and I'm pretty confident he's going to beat Couture.  I think he'll be able to stay out of range with his speed and just pick his shots until he wobbles Couture, then he'll go in for the kill.

I though there was an argument for him to win against Jackson.

I really was not a fan when he won the belt and won't be now.. but anyone overlooking his speed is nuts. He won't finnish Couture. I think he hurts him, but a unan decision.

Lyoto is a hot and cold fighter and it depends which Machida shows up. One night his style is perfect and he finishes the fight; then his next fight is a slow paced, little action decision. I see this fight going two ways only. Either Machida stuns Randy with effective counterstriking and TKO's him or Randy grinds out a decision via dirty boxing and cage brutilization.....

@bklettke:  I agree with everything you stated.  I've always been a fan of Machida's.  It's not always an exciting fight, but I can appreciate the technique.  His wins over Franklin, Silva and Rashad were beautiful.  If he get just fight like that all the time, he would have a lot more fans.

I like Machida's style...I hope to see him get back and fight for the title again...the KO of Rashad was a thing of beauty!

I too thought Machida deserved the decision against Rampage. I know it was a close fight, but watching live and then again after the fight, I scored it 29-28 for Machida. The only decisive round of the fight went to him.

I really like Machida, I hope he uses his effective counter striking against Randy. I also thought he deserved a decision against Rampage.
