Over the past few months Jorge Rivera talked a lot of smack going in to this
fight with Michael Bisping at ufc 127 this past Saturday, Bisping talked a lot
going out of it. But can u blame him really.
The illegal knee from bisping was terrible, OK we saw Rivera react to the knee.
Was he faking it a little bit?? Now I don't want to call a fighter a faker but
every time we see a fighter eat something illegal they sell it a little bit. I
don't think this necessarily is a bad thing but if you are going to give a
fighter a chance to complain about something you did dirty, they are probably
going to use it the best they can because if Rivera got up an said it didn't
hurt him then Bisping doesn't get a point taken away.
Mark Goddard did do the right thing and take a point away in my opinion but
let's think back to knees in PRIDE FC . Think about Heath Herrings old fights
and how many knees he would land before guys were knocked out. Think about
IouriKotchkine at Pride 22, that guy took about 500 knees to the head before he
was ko'd. This was ONE knee, that said the point deduction was correct and maybe
Bisping was not thinking and highly negligent.
People are calling for a rematch and that the knee really impacted the fight. I
don't think it did Jorge Rivera dropped Bisping after the knee and was
competitive after. He lost because Bisping is a better striker then he was and
put it on him. I don't believe this knee completely took Rivera out the fight.!
I think it's ridiculous that most of the same people who were hating on Rivera
seemed outraged that Bisping gave it back.
People are saying that Bisping needs to be cut, a guy who is in the top 10
middleweights in the world, this was not a sucker punch! If all this is true
Josh Koscheck should have been cut a long time ago. When issues like this arise
this is usually a reflection of the man. The sports not going to die or go
underground like it did 10 yrs ago.This is what its like when it's REAL. Not
everyone in the world is going to have their family made fun of, their heritage
nationality mocked, and at the end of the day act like it's all fun and games.
Some people might be like that but not all people. Take a look at when Dan Hardy
and Marcus Davis had there fight at ufc 99. Davis shook Hardy's hand and acted
like all was good, a few months later Davis said he wished Hardy would die of
aids! So what is it do you like the guy or do you want him to die of aids?
If u r going to dish it out and build a beef with a guy u should be prepared
that it might legitimately offend the fighter and take it seriously.
Spitting on Matt Finny is inexcusable but it's absurd to completely crucify a
human being for not kissing and making up. It amazes me that it bothers people
that Bisping did not kiss and make up....
