Week 18 of the 2012 MVP of Tapology is over and all the results are in.
The results are on the first page, below this message.
Those events are still pending and will be added later:
CAGE CONTENDER 13
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Each week, the lowest score of each team is deleted from the weekly team total.
A "MVP week" goes from monday midnight to monday midnight and includes all the events that go official during this time.
I will NOT post updates during the week. The pending events will be added in the next MVP week.
We use the regular Tapology scoring system, with bonus points.
For the regular players:
Winning a UFC event : 250 points
Winning an event : 50 points
*If you're the only one to win the event, you have 50 more points
First place in a MVP weekend : 250 points
Second place in a MVP weekend : 100 points
Third place in a MVP weekend : 50 points
For the Zuffa/Bellator players:
Winning a UFC event : 250 points
Winning a Zuffa/Bellator event : 50 points
*If you're the only one to win the event, you have 50 more points
First place among the Zuffa players in the weekly Zuffa standing : 250 points
Second place among the Zuffa players in the weekly Zuffa standing : 100 points
Third place among the Zuffa players in the weekly Zuffa standing : 50 points
For the teams:
Winning the week : 250 points
Making a trade : -500 points

Haha non of us are world beaters, we just have better events some weekends. We all have good pickers. I'm confident we can hold this lead bit if not, good for ya'll
@Anik- on a serious note, how did you miss 8 events? You just forget to check? I missed my 3 cuz I'm doing a huge remodel on my house

I went out with my friends at 2:30 expecting to come back at 6:30 so that I could make the picks for the 8 events who's deadlines were at 7 and 7:30. I missed a bus. I came home at 7:35 and found that the deadlines were all locked up and closed. I was in 13th place before that happened. What a shame.
But ya, the Werewolves are the sole competition in this league for the Sons and you guys are the reason why this is still entertaining. Hopefully we can beat you guys but if we don't, it'll be because you guys were the better team. Simple.

I hate it when I'm just a few minutes too late. I thought I just missed one even and I only missed it by 20 minutes. I hate letting my team down because of me having a memory lapse

Hey guys... I have decided to bow out of the MVP competition... I have been spending 16+ hours at the hospital everyday and simply don't have time to research all the picks (seems to be more and more cards every week)... I enjoyed going head to head with alot of you... and hopefully when I get all these rotations out of the way I'll be back picking again. Good luck to all the badgers... I know y'all are gonna smoke everybody.

seems like alot of people are getting burnt out on having to make all the picks lately, ACFMMA is still picking but if there is a huge weekend he probably wont make all his picks, and thiagosilva told me he only wants to pick zuffa after this week.

Ok so I'd have to talk to wake about this but what if we went ahead and realigned the league to the 6 person teams and the head to head matchups instead of a yearly total. We would clear everything on the team side and start over but we would keep the individual leaderboard intact.
Also, I was thinking so people don't get burnt out I could pick what I think are the 10-15 best events of the weekend so every week people know what to expect as far as the events they need to pick. But then have the individual leaderboard still track every event for those who want to do so. All of this is off the top of my head and I am open to suggestions.

I'd probably do it at the end of June right at the 6 month mark. But we'd obviously have to start the draft and everything else in like May or something. I just think with like 6 member teams we could still not count the lowest total, it'd be cake for the captains to manage, and then with the head to head matchups, one horrible week doesn't ruin you for a couple months.

There's the Premium League for those who wants to pick 1-4 events a week.
We could also include less events in this league, I don't see any problem with that. Max 10 or 15 every week, or something like that.

Alright instead of doing something drastic we decided to to make a smaller change. As of right now Every team has 14 full time members. To prevent people from getting burnt out we are going to only count each team's 10 best scores every week. That will allow members who don't care about the individual leader board that much to skip weekends that they are overly busy to make 100's of picks yet still be a part of the league. Asking members to stay committed to making every pick every week is a demand some people just can't meet, people have **** going on. However, I do believe every team every week no matter what should at least have 10 people making all their picks.

I think that idea adds more competition so that's good, but the really good teams like the Wolves and the Sons are have some good pickers cut out every week.

If we have 14 man rosters, we could just make weekends with say 16 or less cards have 11 or 12 instead of 10. 17+ and it drops to 10 or something along those lines. It's the 25 card weekends where the 10/14 will be of an actual helpful impact.

That's a good idea, if there's over 15 cards it's the top 10 and if it's under 15 it's the top 12. Ehh?

There are 14 members and 2 Zuffas for 16 team members total. I'd be in favor of counting the top 12 for weekends with 15 events or less, but I'll let wake make that decision.
