The Ultimate Fighter 3
Episode 3 Kendall Grove def. Pointon by Submission (Rear Naked Choke) at 3:45 Round 1

TUF 3 Finale Rory Singer def. Pointon by Submission (Triangle Choke) at 0:44 of Round 1

One of the true characters of UK mixed martial arts, Ross started his mma career well winning his first 3 fights with 2 knockouts and 1 submission, one of the knockouts came against current ufc middleweight Francis "limitless" Carmont which remains his biggest ever win. Ross then went on a five fight loosing streak before a submission win over Jerome Laulan which set him up with a tittle shot for the Cage Warriors Light heavyweight title against Michael "the count" Bisping at CWFC-strike force 4. Bisping won the fight in the first round via armbar.

This was to be a farewell to the uk scene for both fighters as they had been accepted onto the tv reality show The Ultimate Fighter.

Pointon lost his opening fight to the eventual middleweight winner Kendall Grove, but was brought back to face Bisping in the light heavyweight division after nobody wanted to fight Bisping. Ross started the fight brightly hurting Bisping with a over hand right, but Bisping rallied and then hit Pointon with a flying knee to the chin dropping him and allowed Bisping to reign down punches on Ross to win by tko in round one.

Pointon then faced Rory Singer in the ultimate fighter finale, losing by submission in the first round. Ross's next fight came against Rich Clamenti at ufc fight night 8 which Pointon lost via rear naked choke at the end of the second round. This would prove to be Ross's final fight in the ufc. He was signed by then premier uk mma organisation Cage Rage, Ross had four fights winning two and losing two including a welterweight title fight against Marius Zaromskis.

Ross retired from mma but came back just over two years later, He is currently on a seven fight losing streak.

Pointon currently runs his own promotion Gladiator uk in his home town of stoke on trent.
