Wiki

Ben Fodor Wiki

Ben "Phoenix Jones" Fodor was an American superhero, Fodor would walk the streets of Seattle in a superhero costume trying to stop crime while also dealing drugs on the side.

He began his amateur MMA career in 2006 and would continue fighting as an amateur all the way until 2010, during his time as an amateur he would go undefeated winning ten straight bouts. He would then make his professional debut against Fernando Corona that same year on the washingtong regionals, he would come out on top in his pro debut.  He would put his MMA career on hold as he would take up the Phoenix Jones persona and begin fighting crime in 2011.

Fodor would return to MMA in 2013 when he would be matched up with Zach Conn at Cage Warrior Combat 9, In the first round Fodor shoots for a takedown that goes wrong and he ends up dislocating his shoulder forcing Ben to fight the rest of the fight with only one hand. Despite being able to only use one hand for a majority of the fight Fodor would go on to defeat Conn via unanimous decision improving his record to 2-0 and making good on his return to the cage.

Next up Fodor would defeat Nick Coughran via TKO at the end of round 2 at Super Brawl Sunday before being matched up with Justin Larsson at Battle at the Bay 7. Fodor would lock up a guillotine as Larsson shot at the start of round 3, forcing Justin to tap.

Fodor and Larsson would however rematch at Battle at the Bay 8. The first round Larsson would spend controlling Fodor on the ground for a majority of it but both fighters had their moments, the second round would mostly consist of Larsson pushing Fodor against the cage, they got into a few striking exchanges, in one of which Larsson managed to catch Fodor, briefly knocking him down. The round ended with Larsson taking Fodor down and laying on him. As the third round rolled around Larsson would try to once again grapple with Fodor but Fodor managed to disengage the grappling and started throwing heat, he hit Justin with some good shots which prompted Larsson to bend over as Fodor continously threw knees to the head of Larsson. Before one of the knees hit Justin would put one of his hands down prompting the referee to put a halt to the action to allow Larsson to recover from the illegal blow. After Justin recovered Fodor would continue to beat him around the cage until Larsson managed to get Ben down at the end of the final round, this allowed Larsson to ride it out to the decision. It ended up being a split decision which Fodor would manage to steal away from Larsson, keeping his undefeated record intact.

Following this fight with Larsson, Fodor would go to a draw with Tyson Cunningham before choking out the undefeated Jason Novelli at Super Fight League 37 America.

Fodors first defeat would come at WSOF 20: Branch vs. McElligott against Manny Walo who he would lose to via unanimous decision. He would then bounce back at WSOF 23: Gaethje vs. Palomino 2 as he would pull off a scissor choke on Roberto Yong.

This would set up a grudge match for Fodor at WSOF 32: Moraes vs. Hill 2 as Ben Fodor would meet his foster brother and UFC, Strikeforce and ONE veteran Caros Fodor. Caros would prove to be the superior fighter as he would beat his foster brother via unanimous decision.

He would once again bounce back from defeat beating Albert Tadevosyan via Kimura 3 minutes into the third round of their fight at Rumble on the Ridge 36.

He would then make take a year off from fighting before returning in october of 2017 at CageSport 47 to take on the undefeated prospect  Austin Vanderford in a bout that seems to be lost to time, Vanderford would defeat Fodor via unanimous decision.

Ben "Phoenix Jones" Fodor will most likely never fight inside the cage again but he will go down as one of the most memorable individuals to have ever stepped foot inside the cage and this MMA fighter turned superhero turned criminal has definitely left an impression on the people he has crossed paths with.
