Greatest Lightweights of All Time
-
1
- Islam Makhachev
- 25-1-0
-
I have Islam over Khabib because he has a more complete skill set, and he also has wins over Charles Oliveira and Alexander Volkanovski, who are much better than anyone Khabib fought. His fundamentals in all aspects of fighting is why I consider him the greatest lightweight ever.

2
- Khabib Nurmagomedov
- "The Eagle"
- 29-0-0
-
Khabib is still the most dominant fighter ever, but we never really got to see him fight ALL of the contenders in his division before retiring. His only defenses were against strikers, and he never got to fight a prime Tony Ferguson, Michael Chandler, and Charles Oliveira.

3
- Charles Oliveira
- "do Bronx"
- 34-10-0, 1 NC

Charles's win streak after his loss to Jim Miller was absolutely insane, and I think that his dominance in the division should be held in as high regard as Khabib's. He fought a ton of different styles of fighters and beat all of them except for Islam. He takes a lot of risks in his fights in order to finish them, and that is his only true weakness.

4
- Frankie Edgar
- "The Answer"
- 24-11-1
-
Frankie is in my opinion the most underrated fighter of all time. He won the lightweight belt over BJ Penn while not even cutting weight for the division. I still think he beat Benson in the second fight, and not many people remember how good Gray Maynard was before the wars he had with Frankie.
-
5
- BJ Penn
- "The Prodigy"
- 16-14-2
-
There is a reason why BJ Penn has crazy CTE now. He fought anyone anytime, anywhere, and any place regardless of the weight difference, and was still a massive threat. For quite a period of time, he was unanimously the best lightweight in the world while also having a good argument for being the best P4P fighter in the world.

Tony was absolutely destroying everyone that the UFC gave him until age and injuries finally caught up to him.
