If Estima couldn't get within 9 pounds it should've been announced earlier too just as Nick not letting anyone know he wouldn't be there should've.  Neither were in the right, but I'm guessing an eye for an eye.

Making weight the day of doesn't make a bout happen unless the other side agrees to it, same as if he didn't get below 189.  I didn't see that they did agree but I could've missed it.

I'd definitely be peeved had I paid.

I would hate to assume anything, but I would think if Estima went through all of the trouble to wake up at 5 this morning and make weight, the two sides had agreed to the match. This isn't MMA.

No sense for me to argue a clear rule in combat sports and exhibitions.  If you miss weight and can't make it in the allotted time the day before, it is up to your opponent to agree to the fight because missing weight broke the contract.  What Diaz did was very unprofessional, especially if he knew he'd do it since yesterday.  But don't let a dislike of Diaz and his neverending shenanigans cloud your judgment.  Estima 100% did not make weight and if he had the fight would've happened.
