Someone on this site picked Aoki to win by KO, and another person picked Alvarez to win by submission. Those are easily the two least likely scenarios, I hope they didn't bet any money too.

Well regardless of if you are allowed to or not, a clown is the quintessential word to describe him. Anyone who still ranks him top 10 after that embarrassment of a fight against that sub .500 guy a year or two back is bonkers.

You don't base top 10 rankings on 2 year-old fights @Messiah...he's 10-1 in his last 11, ith the only loss coming to Gilbert Melendez...and 7 submissions out of those. Top 10 Lightweights is probably the hardest top 10 to be in...but if he beats Eddie again he's definitely top 10...already is IMO.

I love Aoki but he didn't win any fans in that fight. Made a dumb mistake in the MMA portion of that match. Rushed in for a double and got caught with a knee thrown from a pro kickboxer...could happen to anyone.

@swickotine who has Aoki beaten in that time frame? No one ranked in the top 30. He did however get knocked out in 4 seconds by like I said, a guy who has more losses than wins. Exhibition or not, he got knocked out in the MMA round, in freaking four seconds. In addition to that he got absolutely torched by the only good guy he's fought since getting brained by Hayato Sakurai, also no world beater.

@analias how is that wrong? MAYBE Kawajiri, but he is just as overrated as Aoki is. other than that you cant tell me Razor Rob, Kitoaka, Clementi, Beerbohm, Aurelio or Sithoar are even top 50 LW's.

Its hard to take aoki seriously as a top 10 guy. He obviously has the ground skills to give anybody problems. But a 10 top guy shouldnt be fighting a 0-0 fighter like sithoar. And guys like razor rob, clementi and aurellio who probably arent even in the top 50, and might not even be in the top 100 in some cases. Since his loss to melendez 8 fights ago i think the only quality wins he has was against an up and comer lyle beerbhom, and 2 good fighters in kitaoka and kawajiri. Fighting 3 solid fighers out of 8 in a 2 year span doesnt sound like 10 top material to me. Hell that doesnt even sound like top 25 material.
