I figured Tapology needs an official NFL thread, for all talks related to the NFL. Sick of seeing random topics on the Peyton Manning thread.

So please discuss the NFL here, thanks everyone.

So happy the niners lost. For the last 2 weeks, all of the sudden, everyone is a Niner fan.  People who still thought Alex Smith was the starting quarterback. There is an unfortunate trend in the Bay Area: "let's only root for our team when they win". We have 6 major sports teams. We're so damn spoiled.

Best example:

2006: Warriors have losing season. Miss playoffs. No hope ahead. Most people are rooting for the Lakers.

2007: Warriors make playoffs. Knock off #1 seed, Dallas Mavericks. "Oh ****, we have a basketball team??"
Everyone is a Warriors fan.

2008-2012: Warriors go back to losing ways. No one cares. Most people are rooting for the Lakers.

2013: Warriors on pace to make playoffs. Lakers suck ass. People are trading in their Kobe jerseys for Curry jerseys

Well the 49ers are one of my favorite teams because of Alex Smith, who's going to be leaving soon. I wish they took out Colin and put in Alex Smith, I just wanna watch him play 'cause of how awesome he is.

NFL Free Agency is ******* crazy so far, what are everyone's thoughts?

After seeing the moves, I will predict the Bears to go to the Super Bowl. Bear down.

I think it's crazy the Pats let Wes go... I know, I know... the "system" is above all (except Brady), but that was dumb.  Just heard Steven Jackson signed with the Falcons.

Patriots letting Wes Welker go for Danny Amendola is so un-Patslike and stupid it's unbelievable. Instead of paying Wes Welker 6 million per season for 2 years, they pay Amendola 6.2 million per season for 5 years when Welker is not only a proven elite receiver and durable (unlike Amendola), but he so happens to be Tom Brady's favorite target.

This doesn't make sense.

I think Amendola is a fitting replacement though.

I think it makes sense.Amendola is younger and Welker drops passes in the postseason.

Amendola is awesome...when he's healthy. Why would you pay more for a much riskier player who hasn't established chemistry with the QB and has never posted over 689 receiving yards in a season?

Compare that to Wes Welker who's posted almost (not 100 yards short, like 20 yards short) or over double that amount in 3 of the past 4 seasons?!

I think they are looking at the big picture.Welker has MAYBE 2 good years left. He's on the decline.Amendola is a risk,But he could be the next big thing.

As a Rams fan, Amendola leaving makes me more sad than Jackson leaving. Hate to see one of my fave current players go to the Pats of all teams

I agree 100%. The media is spinning it as Danny is younger. I do think Danny's numbers will go up with Brady and a pass happy offense but he won't hav anywhere near the success Welker had. I expect 60-70 catches for 850 yards from him.

The Falcons absolutely stole Steven Jackson. 12 million for 3 years? He must have been really tired of playing on a losing team.

Slot receivers get banged up a lot, Amendola will be a bust in New England because of his injuries.

Where's Nnamdi gonna land? I hope the Bears take him (even if we don't need him), if used properly (and not in some ******** ****head way like the Eagles did) he is a top 2 corner in the league.

Only the ******* Eagles would take arguably the best user of sidelines in the league and line him up in center routes.

The draft is how you build a super bowl team but I'm very pleased with what the Broncos have done so far. I would say they have won when it comes to free agency. They still have to go out and play though. Games aren't won on paper but I'm really excited about the Broncos this year.
