He'll be top 3 as soon as he signs, I assume he'll beat anyone SF has to offer. Not a huge fan of Nate, but talent wise, he deserves to be back in the UFC.

This is a good move for Marquardt, in my opinion. He's a solid fighter and needs to be challenged, and I think Strikeforce will offer him a few challenges - namely Woodley and Daley. Strikeforce is desperate for good quality fighters to help bolster its weight divisions and Nate is a marketable name too. A couple of wins, maybe a championship, and we may see Nate back in the UFC where he belongs. Smart move Zuffa.

Financially it makes no sense for Zuffa not to sign him. Signing him to Strikeforce is the best way to punish Nate, restrict him going elsewere and using him as a prospect builder.

I was so happy when I learned this yesterday, Nate is one of my all time faves and its good to see him back in relevance.
I would love to see him back @ MW though, I think there are many interesting fights for him whether in SF or the UFC in Rockhold, Jacare, Bisping, Vitor, Wand, etc... though I wouldn't mind seeing him pair-off against Condit in the UFC or Daley in SF.
Hell, I just want to see him fight!

I think Marquardt kan be very relevant in Strikeforce. He's a big name and should be able to rack up a few good wins. He is an enormous improvement to the Strikeforce roster and I'm glad to see him fight again
