Dana just tweeted this, saying it's going to be on FOX. Thoughts?

This is the fight I wanted. I think Hendricks takes this, he's like Pierce except a better striker, and probably a better wrestler.

I DO feel the Fitch fight was a fluke, and if it happened again that punch wouldn't land and he'd lose a decision, so I don't think Hendricks will be finishing Koscheck...but I don't think Kos is as good a wrestler as Fitch, and he'll lose on the feet.

Question. Why is this fight on Fox? Please tell me it's not part of the main card. Look, I know they both have KO power, but overall what is the skill they rely on the most? Wrestling. To me, this is just like putting Evans/Davis on Fox. They're good fighters that have shown the ability to put on good shows, but they're go to weapon has and always will be wrestling. So to me, this fight either ends by 1st Rd KO, or this thing is going the distance with 2 wrestlers just trying to lay on each other.

@BTK (Mike) I rather enjoyed that myself and I wouldn't mind seeing Kos get the same treatment, but I think he will be more prepared for that opening volley from Hendrix

@Zarog that's what I don't like about UFC on Fox policy. Instead of raising the sport profile using fox they focus on short term goals of using it to promote specific fighters and use it as an advertising platform for their PPVs. For now we have 1 good and 1 ****** Fox card. A 50:50 ratio is not bad in terms of lost revenue vs future investment but I really hope they don't go full ****** and turn UFC on Fox into LNP on Fox. Because even though we know LNP is an idiotic term for most Fox viewers it will be "gay sex"

This makes me so sad :(
I am a HUGE fan of both fighters but I'm for sure sticking with Koscheck and I think he'll get the decision.

@norbar I said this a while back, I really think they should be pushing young fighters that have already reached top prospect status. Building the profiles of Michael McDonald (21), Alex Caceres (23), Renan Barão (25), Dominick Cruz (26), Diego Brandao (24), Jimy Hettes (24), Chan Sung Jung (24), Dustin Poirier (23), Erik Koch (23), José Aldo (25), Paul Sass (23), Edson Barboza (26), Anthony Pettis (25), Nate Diaz (26), Rory MacDonald (22), Jake Ellenberger (26), Alexander Gustafsson (25), and Stefan Struve (23). Make fights between 1 of these guys and somebody that they have a good chance to beat. The fact is that these guys are exciting, some of them are closing in on the divisions top ranks, and it is basically the 26 and under club. You build these guys on the FOX and FX events for 2 years, then you have all these guys that can main event PPVs and draw big numbers every time because there is a built-in fan base. You then have a minimum (barring serious injuries) of 4 years of the prime of their careers for them to draw big money. I don't get why the UFC isn't trying to do this. Many of these guys are rarely in boring fights, and on top of that they have the skill to reach top contender status at some point in their careers. It seems like the perfect fit, but they aren't doing it.

@Zarog yes but also some of those fights need to be important fights so the fans feel like they are a part of something bigger but you have a very valid point. Exciting fights + producing a new breed of future prospects is a good idea.

@norbar No doubt. That's why I think on the Fox cards the first 2 fights should be the younger guys, and then the final fight should be #1 contender, or a title fight. FX cards should just be the exciting young guys for 3 fights, with the main event being maybe 2 guys that are 2 wins away from a title shot.

I think a lot of people underestimate Koscheck's chin.  Lets not forget that he willingly engaged Rumbe and Thiago Alves standing up. I think this is going to be a hard fought decision.  I think when Koscheck decides to use his wrestling he can beat anyone at WW except GSP.  I haven't watched Hendrick's fight versus Pierce yet though so I really can't compare the two yet.
