Jones isn’t going to fight Tom. Aspinall would win with a highlight and Jon knows it. It would actually be really ****** annoying if he doesent fight him as it should be a guaranteed fight for tom as interim champ

Jones is still good but he's past his prime. Reyes, Santos bouts tell it the best. We didn't see much from Jon in Ciryl fight, we learned more about Gane being far from complete. Aspinall is young and hungry and if he DID fight Jones, the odds would definetly favor him. But Jones is still live af tho. Think about it, how does Tom look in the 2nd? 3rd? 4th? 5th? Only one fight went to the second round, it was the Arlovski one. Jon could absolutely win via experience & squeeze it by winning the later rounds. His chin still hasn't been cracked & his defense I'm certain would hold up somewhat (judging even from his later performances aswell).

But yeah Jon probably retires happily after beating 3 year lay off Stipe. He damn well knows it's a young mans sport and probably isn't gonna risk it.
