most likely Jones will get Rua on his back but he will be able to sweep get on top or back on the feet

I am scared for this fight man. Shogun is one of my favorite fighters, but Jones looks unstoppable. Jones is relatively untested, but he did manhandle Bader, so I think the hype is real. I think Shogun will not get submitted because he has great jiu-jitsu, and is good enough on the ground to defend Jones' elbows, so I think whoever has the better cardio will win this fight, as I think it will go into deep waters, if Shogun doesn't finish it early. The way I see it, Shogun has 25  minutes to finish Jones, and I think he can do it.

I am all for Jones taking the belt away form Shogun. However I do think that Shogun will prove to be the most testing fight that Jones has had to date.

So amped for this fight. I love to speculate on this bout, but I know it could go so many ways. Shogun is by far the better overall fighter, but Jones is just so explosive. I'll pick Rua by submission, but it wouldn't shock me if Bones takes home the belt.

sure jones is a real threat but not as if Shogun hasnt beaten some good fighters as well. i wont dismiss shogun so easily.

Its tough to call, but I think I gotta go with Shogun, he has sick jiu-jitsu and has never been knocked out.

i have jones as it seems that shogun is continually haing knne issues n eventually its gonna take away from his mobility i think if jones can keep a decent pace n ear down shogun he can win

It's gonna come down to experience (Shogun) vs. explosivity (Jones), and like all things, experience is gonna be the factor and key to victory....

@Bklettke I thought Bader was stronger and yes OUCH! I always had this feeling in the back of my mind Jones would win but I was really going for Bader... However I think Shogun heelhook in Round 2 or 3 .. I really hope Jones doesnt win the title... Even if he does Rashad or Rampage would kick his ass imo....

Jones wins easy, he's a next gen fighter, his physical attributes are perfect for MMA and give him a huge advantage. The Bonnar fight was 2 years ago, Jones has had plenty of time to improve his cardio since then. But, it is Shogun so who knows. Wher does this Jones hate come from?

I really didnt like Jones before the Bader fight and then he disrespected Bader in the weigh ins and beat him :( .... I just really dont like the guy.

That's all just pre fight hype though isn't it, it's how they act during and after the fight. I mean Jones took offense to Thiago Silva slapping Vera, saying that that was disrespectful. Hmm maybe a bad exaple seeing as your called thiagosilva lol.

Yeh but Bader is such a nice guy and everything just really pissed me offf.... Ya i also hate him for that Slaps are actually a very effective use of a strike and for him to say that makes me want to slap him! (although i wouldnt cos i would prob be dead 23 seconds later..) I mean stay out of another fighters business I think Thiago would beat Jones down like noone else could just cause of his style. Great Stand up and Great Clinch/Trips and jiu jitsu.... Although we havent got to see his trips or bjj much because of his back problems we kinda saw it against Vera.

The closer we get to this fight the more I think Jones is just going to manhandle Shogun.  I hope I'm not just buying into a bunch of UFC hype.  I really think Jones is the real deal and that he's capable of doing this.  I think the Bones Era begins this month.
