Rongzhu vs. Haraguchi
Rongzhu, TKO, R3
Haraguchi gameplan is pretty simple. Rongzhu has been focusing heavy on his wrestling these past few years. Experience will prevail after the first.

Xiao vs. Lee
Long Xiao, DEC
Lee has been on fire and Xiao has over performed. Xiao has faced grapplers this entire tournament and this will be no different. Lee looks like the goods but I'll take Long for another upset.

Tsuruya vs. Jiniushiyue
Rei Tsuruya, DEC
Rei suprised me against Climaco, he's got solid cardio even with all the shots, he did open up a-bit defensively but I don't know as though Jinushiyue can defend enough to sc**** a decision. Jiniushiyue has shown solid reactions/defense so far therefore this will be a great test, he looks sharp picking shots.

Rei Tsuruya is really really good, but i have too much bias and love for Little King Kong. Hes made me good money in both his road to ufc fights. I wont be betting on him here because I rate Rei pretty high, But Ill pick Jiniushiyue, **** it

Yeah that fight was postponed due to visa issues and injury's. We will probably see it sometime at the apex or a Asian card.

Rongzhu vs. Haraguchi
Shin Haraguchi, DEC
best fight of the season in terms of how competitive it will be. Rongzhu has improved a lot and should be the favourite here. Haraguchi is a step below Rinya but still a top wrestler and should be a big prospect. However, he has a lack of finishing ability and is a FW fighting up. I hope both gets signed they deserve it, but Haraguchi needs to move down. I am personally going with Haraguchi, I have watched him wrestle for a long time now and I just feel he will control the fight on the ground.

Li vs. Yizha
Yizha, DEC
I like both guys but Yizha is just better and has a real chance of making it on the UFC. Kaiwen can be fun tho

Tsuruya vs. Jiniushiyue
Rei Tsuruya, SUB, R2
Jiniushiyue isnt bad and has a real chance to win. He is a decent grappler/striker and could hold his own like Climaco. I hope he gets signed no matter the result. But Tsuruya is an uber prospect like Rinya so I hope he can make it.

Rongzhu vs. Haraguchi
Rongzhu, TKO, R2
This is a tough one because I like both guys. I think haraguchi has a higher ceiling but he is too green right now. He is a phenomenal wrestler but needs to work on his other skills. His striking is okay but he doesn’t have much to offer and is also very small for this divison. He doesn’t have very good bjj either so he’s not much of a threat on the ground, just an extremely dominant wrestler. It’s hard to tell where Rongzhu is at; he has looked very good recently but also shown a lot of concerning things in the past. In this tournament his striking has looked much improved & he’s stopped goofing around in fights. His wrestling is nowhere near as good as haraguchi’s, but I think it’s good enough that he can get back to his feet and defend a few shots. In the feet I don’t think this is close. Rongzhu is a pretty lanky guy and throws very high volume. I think he is going to defend most of the takedowns and eventually find a ko. Maybe haraguchi is able to dominate him with wrestling as there is a possibility Rongzhu pulls a stunt, but I do think he has improved a ton & has shown some potential

Li vs. Yizha
Kaiwen Li, TKO, R1
I went pretty back and forth on this one. First, I was on yizha as he has more experience and has a more well rounded skillset but then after watching his fights I’m now leaning towards Li. I don’t think Li is a very good grappler at all but yizha’s wrestling isn’t as good as I remembered. He does have some crafty bjj so if he is able to take Li’s back he will probably find something, but for the most part he just shoots and pushes you to the fence. In the standup I think Li has all the advantage; yizha has solid striking fundamentals but he isn’t much of a ko threat where Li comes in to take your head off. In the RTU finals last year, the few times yizha and lee did exchange, yizha was getting hurt really badly. Li hits even harder and won’t give yizha the point fight he wants on the feet. Now that being said, these two are friends and training partners so maybe this will be a boring sparring match. I don’t really think Li is that good but if he comes to put on a show I think he can ko yizha

Tsuruya vs. Jiniushiyue
Rei Tsuruya, DEC
King Kong is a decent fighter but his RTU performances didn’t really impress me. He looks fine everywhere but is just a point fighter for the most part. Rei is still really young but this kid is a beast. He keeps his chin pretty high in the air but he uses that karate stance as it helps him get his takedowns. His wrestling is very high level & I think he will win a pretty clear decision against King Kong. I was really impressed with how well his cardio held up against climaco; he fought through adversity for the first time in his career and stayed calm throughout. Maybe he breaks King Kong with the nonstop chain wrestling but I think a dominant decision is more likely. Either way, Rei is a very bright prospect

Predictions: 1 of 3 Winners, 0 Perfect, 50 Points   |   Tied for 245th

Rongzhu vs. Haraguchi
Shin Haraguchi, DEC
HAraguchi is small for the weightclass, but he is fast and relentless. Plus, even though Rongzhu is young, he has taken a lot of damage throughout his career.

Li vs. Yizha
Yizha, DEC
Yizha should have won the Road to UFC competition last year, Kaiwen Li is good but Yizha is the more well-rounded MMA fighter with crazy good cardio too.

Tsuruya vs. Jiniushiyue
Jiniushiyue, DEC
Rei Tsuruya is so hyped, but it is relatively undeserved. Don't get me wrong here, he could win, but Jiniushiyue is no slouch and should not be a +400 underdog.
