Cannot wait for this fight!!! This is THE fight of the weekend. The UFC card is piss poor, Golden Boy has a show with a great main event in Luis Nery vs Crazy A! But this fight, it can only be unpredictable, violent, dramatic and awesome!!!! Leigh Wood was an unheralded, fringe European level fighter for years but something changed a few years ago and now he may be the best Featherweight on the planet. His 12th round stoppage over Xu Can in Eddie's back garden was his announcement onto the world stage. Can Xu was expected to overwhelm and likely stop Wood (Xu held the record for most punches thrown, he was a machine!!!) and Wood beat his ass!!!! Hardly lost a round, great, punishing punch placement and eventually stopped Xu in the 12th. Then he faced Mick Conlan, the 2022 Fight of the Year! That finished, again in the 12th, with the 2022 KO of the Year!!!! As for Lara, he also burst onto the world stage a couple of years ago. He came over to the UK as an unknown, unheralded opponent for Josh Warrington, at that time rated no. 1 Feather in the world. Not many people knew much about Lara and nearly everyone expected Warrington to cruise to an easy stay busy win. Welp!,, that never happened!!!!! Turns out Lara is a Demon!!!! He beat Warrington ass, broke his jaw and KO'd him in the 9th.(that should really been stopped in the 3rd after the 1st Knockdown) Since then Lara has been avoided by the Champions, he's had 2 fights against top 50 guys and he KO'd them both. His fight vs Sanchez was very entertaining, Lara was hurt to the body, but instantly turned it around and blasted Sanchez out with a combination of wild hooks!!!! My prediction for this fight has been tough to figure out!!! I do think that this fight ends in knockout, probably a brutal 1!!! Lara is likely the bigger puncher, though Wood has plenty KO power himself! I think Lara will come out wild and aggressive and try to overwhelm Wood early! He may just do that. But I think Wood can survive and start to piece up Lara. For all the fun his wild hooks are, Lara leaves a lot of openings. I think Wood will start to capitalise on these and start landing his own hard, accurate shots. Wood should go to the body. Lara was hurt there in his last fight and was stopped by body shots earlier in his career. Yup, I'm predicting another late round stoppage win for Leigh Wood!!!! Imagine a 3rd 12th round KO World Championship win in a row for Wood!!!!!
Smith vs. Allington

Dalton Smith may be the best prospect in British Boxing. Thing is he's past the prospect stage now tho, time to go for European, then start challenging World rated fighters. I hope Matchroom don't do their usual strategy of having top British prospects facing old, past their best former Champions and actually give Smith tests against guys in their prime who'll push him to his limit. I've seen enough UK prospects build up records vs faded names, move into World Contender position, get a World Title shot but they are unprepared because they haven't been tested and they get destroyed!!!!! You can't have your 1st real World level fight against the Champion!!!! Need to be tested on the way up. I do think Dalton Smith will be fighting for a World Title at some point, hopefully he's been built up properly
