Like Adesanya, world champion you mean? And Jacoby? Diakiese? Etc etc.

Last I saw Alex Pereira is doing ok in UFC.

Everyone is so hung up on Giga. Lol. He is not that good.

Don't use him as your reference point

I completely get your point when defending the top tier kickboxers and Muay Thai fighters being able to transition into MMA and have respectable ground game but in all fairness, comparing Anvar Boynazarov to the likes of adesanya, Rafael Fiziev and ciryl Gane just because of kickboxing and Muay Thai background similarities is a bit of a stretch lol
The bloke has started positively on paper at 3-0 granted but he`s beat "Henry Crapp" who's is now 0-3, his name literally sums him up....CRAP.
A now 2-16 Rob fuller.... absolutely terrible.
and John Pham at 4-3, 3 out of those 4 wins have come against opponents that have a combined total of 1 win between them.... which doesn't do a lot for him either....
combined kickboxing and Muay Thai record is 6-7 which on the experience side is better but still a negative record and doesnt tell a story of him being some sort of world beater.... lol
He does have one notable win against Giga Chikadze which is very good but that does date back over 7 years ago now and was a split decision. Aswell as the fact it was a kickboxing bout and not MMA so yes does prove he clearly have respectable stand up but does not to insinuate he has good TDD or Submission defence.

On paper I can certainly see why Erik Silva is the more popular pick, he is more experienced with his 8-1 record and certainly faced better competition, he is on a 7 fight win streak with his most recent and most notable win last time out coming against an 18-6 Edgar Garcia Cabello. When you combine his opponents records it gives you an overall of 55-26 which sounds a damn lot better than 6-22.... I don't think 13 months total of pro MMA fight time is enough for me to have any confidence in any notable TDD that will be able to continuously keep Erik Silva away enough to allow for Anvar to get himself going in the stand up. Silva has 5 RNC submission wins from his 8 wins total, 4 of which have come back to back in his last 4 fights, this is another bad sign for Anvar due him obviously wanting to keep this fight on the feet whereas Silva will be looking to take him down which is not crazy to point out will be a clear weakness in Anvar`s game at this moment in time. I see this being Anvar`s first Pro MMA loss and I see it happening pretty fast, first round sub for me. I could be wrong but I don't think its surprising that many people share this same view

@chess not that it changes your point because I happen To agree with you that Silva will probably win but Tapology doesn't have Anvars complete kickboxing record. He is actually quite a high level kickboxer with a record of 95-27-2 not 6-7 lol

Anvar, like pereira also has a very deadly left hand. He slept Fabio pinca with it in what was a massive upset

Borrego vs. Nickal
Zack Borrego, DEC
All I have seen from Nickal is one fight. Most of what I know is from what other say. That being said I’m going with Borrego who has more experience in pro MMA fights.

Boynazarov vs. Silva
Erik Silva, SUB, R1
Boynazarov’s last knockouts was one of my favorites of all time. Silva is a dog so I’m taking the Venezuelan to beat the more inexperienced mixed martial artist Anvar.

Rah123 what are you even talking about?

I never mentioned Giga in my post.

You compare Anvar to Izzy? Good one, maybe Blood Diamond or Ulberg is a better comparison.

Jacoby and Diakiese are not a good comparison because they both started MMA in their teen years, Anvar was 30, big difference.

You guys really think Pogues gas tank holds up on short notice? He looked so damn fat and out of shape at weigh ins I think he fades in the 2nd. Just my opinion.

Borrego vs. Nickal
Bo Nickal, TKO, R1
Nickal isn't even going to take him down I bet, just to prove a point for the second fight in a row.

Boynazarov vs. Silva
Erik Silva, SUB, R1
Anvar's kickboxing record is impressive, beating Giga Chikadze and making it to the final bell against Saenchai are both things to be proud of. But he's taken the easiest possible rout in MMA, crushing two of the worst cans in the sport in Rob Fuller and Henry Crapp. I don't trust his ground game and I doubt he does either. Silva will lock up his back and get his 5th RNC in a row

Borrego has 2 first round KOs, if Nickal doesn’t wrestle it’ll be a closer fight than it has to be.
