I think they're killing two birds with one stone, making Hathaway realize what he needs to do to stay relevant and sending McCray off to get some wins in another promotion.

Hathaway looks like he's fighting under water, he always looks like he's moving in slow motion. I'm haven't seen his fights against Story and Sanchez but I can't figure how he beat them fighting like he has in his last 2 fights.

Kris McCray looks like he's really improving as a fighter.  Even though he's 0 - 3 in the UFC I wouldn't be mind seeing him get another shot.  If not I think he could be a contender in Strikeforce.

I don't know what happened to Hathaway, but he hasn't really looked like the same fighter that dominated Diego Sanchez.

In retrospect I may have been too hard on McCray. He definitely showed some improvement in that fight. I still think he should be cut, with card space being so limited these days, but if he picks up a couple of solid wins on smaller shows and keeps showing improvement, I would not be opposed to him being brought back at that point.
