The PPC Thread

This is the official thread for the PPC (Pink Prediction Championship) fantasy game series that I run. I have listed all the previous winners of the PPC on my profile page and will continue to update it after every PPC. If anyone wants to know any other stats or records about the PPC, just ask!

The PPC (Pink Prediction Championship) is a points-based game where up to 16 users compete. It’s free to enter but then again there are also no chips to be won but for what it’s worth, I’ll follow the winner (or winners in the event of a tie) of each PPC, along with a congratulations comment on their wall and an invite to the next PPC. 2nd and 3rd place (including any joint 2nd or 3rd places) will get a congratulations comment on their wall. The reason for this is that I don’t want anyone to want to join the game but not being able to afford to while also still having some kind of prize structure (although not much of one) but it is just a friendly competition after all! The only people to get invites will be the previous champion (or champions in the event of a tie) because I want to make this an open competition and if I invited everyone I wanted to invite then all 16 places would fill up very quickly.

Every PPC is made up of:

• 1 MMA event

• 1 Boxing event

• 1 UFC event

The idea is that this should test your general MMA knowledge (1 MMA event), your Boxing knowledge (1 Boxing event) and your mainstream MMA knowledge (1 UFC event) so that in theory, the winner of each PPC is the one with the best all-round combat sports knowledge.

There is also a PPC group that anyone is welcome to join (I’ll accept all requests. If I don’t accept you straight away, it’s because I’m either at work, sleeping or otherwise busy). This group will have a records thread that lists the full tables of every PPC and any other random threads that are created by the members. The group leaderboard will only include the MMA/Boxing/UFC events used in the PPC’s. You can find it in the Pick ‘Em Groups section.

This is designed as a friendly league and is solely for fun. Hopefully it will also act as a good introduction to the fantasy games for new users or users that have never taken part in fantasy games before while also providing an opportunity for them to meet regular fantasy players. If you are looking for a fantasy game with some fantasy chips involved, then I highly recommend the “Most Painful Picks” and “Seagalski Elimination Series” run by Steven Seagalski, the “Shark Cups” run by Rombu and the monthly boxing games and UFC games run by Mikey1903 they are well worth checking out! Ask them for more info on their respective fantasy competitions.

There will only be one PPC running at any one time otherwise I’d just confuse myself. If you have any questions, even stupid ones, just ask! Anyway, if you’re interested then head on over to the fantasy games and look for one titled “PPC” followed by a number. I hope to see you soon and good luck!

The absolute marathon that was the PPC 69 has finally ended! Congratulations to @Steven Seagalski for winning it, making it the 5th time he's won the PPC Title! As the current PPC Champion, you will receive an invite to the PPC 70 when I set it up shortly!

Well done as well to @hunterp for finishing in a close 2nd place and to @Kairos El for finishing 3rd which makes it the 3rd week in a row he's finished in the top 3!

As for our ghost players, @Cheeseball finished in 9th with 3,195 points and @Judo finished in 18th with 445 points but he only picked the Cage Warriors and PFL card so I'm certain he'd have been a contender if he'd made the other picks.

Finally, I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone for taking part and hope you'll join me as the PPC heads into the 70's!

After a bit of a delay due to my sheer ******ation, I can now reveal the PPC 70 results! Congratulations to @Judo for winning his 2nd PPC Title! His other win came back in the PPC 41 so he's had to wait a while for it! As the current PPC Champion, you will receive an invite to the PPC 71 when I set it up tomorrow evening!

Well done to @mmmma and @Spotlight23 for finishing in 2nd and 3rd respectively!

I'm going to open it in an hour or so, I've just been really busy these last few days due to an absolute staffing crisis at work.

The PPC 71 was a very close game that could've gone either way between the top 2! Congratulations to @Steven Seagalski for winning back his PPC Title by 5 points! This also put's him in joint 2nd for the all time PPC wins alongside @FistyMcKickerChoke and @pureincognito who both have 6 wins each! (@Hunterp is still in a league of his own with 10 PPC wins btw!). As the current PPC Champion, you will receive an invite to the PPC 72 when I set it up shortly!

Well done as well to @pureincognito who put up a great fight and finished in a very close 2nd in a game that could've gone either way! Well done as well to @Spotlight23 who has finished in 3rd for the 2nd week in a row!

The PPC 72 was another very close event and it also gave us a brand new name to add to the record books! Congratulations to @ricky79 for winning his first PPC event! He has finished in 3rd on 4 previous occasions so I guess it was only a matter of time before he won! As the current PPC Champion, you will receive an invite to the PPC 73 when I set it up shortly!

I'm so sad I missed making some of the picks in 72, I had placed 42nd on the bellator card and 180th in ufc, I had a chance

Unlucky mate! I've noticed that a few people have missed picks for some of the smaller events as well so in terms of feedback, is there anything more I could do to help remind people? I put what events are in the game when I post it in the thread so people can decide if they want to join and I've thought of giving reminders in the comments section but feared that would come across as pushy rather than helpful. If you've got any suggestions about how I can improve it, I'd love to hear them! 

That's a good question, I'm not really sure. I just missed them because I had an unexpectedly busy weekend, so the time I thought I was going to have on Saturday morning to make picks while drinking my coffee (which I normally do for UFC events) was no longer there. Oh well! PPC 73 is mine!

Congratulations to @pureincognito for winning his 7th PPC Title! This now puts him in clear 2nd behind @hunterp (10 wins) for the most PPC wins! As the current PPC Champion, you will receive an invite to the PPC 74 when I set it up shortly!

Well done as well to @hunterp for finishing in 2nd and to @schatte who has now finished 3rd which incidentally is the 2nd week in a row he's finished in 3rd!

It always feels a bit awkward announcing myself as the PPC Champion but that's the way it's turned out this week lol! This is the 6th time I've won it but my first since the PPC 39 so I've had to wait a while for it! 

Well done to @hunterp for finishing in 2nd for the 2nd week in a row and we have a 2-way tie for 3rd between @Steven Seagalski and @Schatte who both finished with 3,000 points each so well done to you two as well!

As for our ghost player @Judo, he finished in 17th 540 points but he only picked the UFC card so it obviously would've been much higher if he'd picked the others and 540 for that particular card is a very respectable score!

We've got another new name to add to the list of PPC Champions after the PPC 75! Congratulations to @AyyLmaonnasie for winning his first PPC Title!
