So today I rewatched the UFC 245 card and in the main event I honestly had it 3-1 Covington going into the last round. I had him winning rounds 1, 2, and 4 and it’s not like 3 wasn’t a close one either. I just felt that he was landing solid combinations throughout the fight. I also had him winning in the last round until the knockdowns obviously. I know the judges had it as a tie going into the last round and Usman would’ve won on the score cards, but my question is why did no one ever bring any attention to all the hammer fists to the back of Covington’s head that sealed the deal? He might’ve finished him anyways but there were multiple illegal strikes that caused the stoppage and I haven’t seen anyone ever bring those up. Just wondering if anyone else noticed this.

That was a damn good fight. I don't remember the hammer fists to the back of the head. I'll have to watch it again.

If you had Covington winning that fight, you're ********, and should keep your opinions away from judging entirely. Because you simply don't understand it.

@Stomper some things are just self-evident. Colby got the **** beaten out of him and Usman was really never in trouble the entire fight. Moreoever Usman outlanded him in 4/5 rounds, broke his jaw, and finished him.

The problem is really Newbies ( and dip****s) not understanding what a significant strike is. There's a lot of dip**** judges who suffer from this problem.

That wasn't a close fight. Covington got beaten up. Anyone who thinks  that fight was close probably thinks he could beat Batman. And wants to suck his ****.

@fishrat and the craziest thing was that if the fight was to last for another minute, then Colby would of won the decsion by split. It wouldn't of been a robbery  as the rounds were close, but Usman won 3-2. I think we need more accoutablity with judging tho

I know man. That **** was serious, serious shenanigans. If you ever wanted or needed proof that the judges are to be bought, it was that fight.

@fishrat I also think how MMA being scored is part of the problem, We need a simpler scoring system like schoolyard or pride  . The fans barely understand the system ,so  how can u expect the judge who are idiot to score it.

@DamienHandel420

ONE Championship uses the same scoring system that PRIDE FC used to score MMA.  The only time ONE uses the 10-point must system is for kickboxing or Muay Thai.

Meh not impressed

Colby was tough but thats a stupid strategy.
Usman won but not by the huge margin.
Other than injury which caused tko.
And yes many illegal strikes were landed.
Below average title fight anymore id have to rewatch and
There are a hundred better first

Just got done watching it for the 2nd time. That was a damn good fight. The first 2 rounds were close. But Usman took the fight after that. Yeah he landed more than a few hammerfists to the back of the head. But I think he would have finished him anyway at that point.
