Hopefully Condit can learn from Cerrone's mistakes.  If not he is on for five rounds of body shots and never ending cardio.  Still going to go with Condit.  AND IM GOING TO THE EVENT!!!

Still shocked that Cerrone lost. I've always thought he was good, but Diaz just outworked him.

Cerrone is very dangerous. Nate just proved he's a force in that division. I was shocked. There's been so many decent fights this year with a lot of surprising outcomes. I had Cerrone winning but pumped that Nate did. What a fight it was.

So happy for Diaz his striking has looked so much better his last couple fights, he's really starting to look like Nick.

I agree, his boxing looked very stellar last night. Just about everything he was throwing was landing. I don't care for Cerrone much, but I was actually starting to feel a little bit bad for him.

I felt like Cowboy refused to pull the trigger at times.  His ground game is fantastic and with the amount of times he dropped Nate in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, I have no idea why he didn't follow him to the ground on a few occasions either.  Oh well.. Nate's boxing did look very much improved.

I saw that.. amazing.  Just curious, but how did you guys score rounds two and three?  This is where judging to me gets a little hazy.  Cerrone dropped Diaz 7 times in round 2 with leg/body kicks and another 3 times in round 3.  Are those considered "Knock downs"?  I scored R2 for Cerrone and R3 even due to those.  I know Diaz boxed Cerrone up with jabs and what not, but damn.. What do you guys think?

Those sweeps didn't even come close to winning it for Cerrone to me.

I'll take 20 punches to the face over a few leg sweeps that cause next to no damage.

Diaz just got up every time, and continued to whoop his ass.  All they really did for Cerrone was give him a small breather from the beating he was taking.

I thinkmajority of the time Diaz fell was just due to slips. He didnt really seem hurt at all.

@Alias... I understand your opinion on the fight, but.. my question was:  Are the kicks that dropped Diaz.. are they to be considered a knock down since it dropped him?  I am not sure as far as judging criteria... that is why I initially scored R2 for Cerrone.. it was by far the closest to score for Cerrone.  @Mike.. No, I don't think he was really hurt by them either though.  Just wondering.. are leg kicks/body kicks knock down judged as just that,  a knock down?  I'm just wondering all your thoughts.

i thought cerrone won the second, but nate won the first and third for sure, but thats just like one judge scored it i belief, the other 2 scored it 30-27 for diaz, anyways it was a pretty damn impressive win for the 209er

Nah...I don't consider them knockdowns.

True knockdowns imply damage.  Diaz kept lifting his leg, so Cerrone would kick out the other one, making him fall down.  They wouldn't count that as a knockdown in K1.

If he had taken a bunch of hard leg kicks, had started to limp and whatnot, and then a solid one landed that made his leg give out and drop him to the floor....that would be a knock down.

I wouldn't have thought that the fight would play out the way it did, but Diaz impressed me a lot and in my eyes he won all 3 rounds. Now I'm very excited to see more of Diaz because he keeps improving constantly.

I understand what you guys are saying.  I tried to find something on this and all I could find was Shooto's definition of a knockdown and they stated this:

Knockdown:  (when any part of a competitor's body touches the mat solely as the result of a strike).

Gosh.. I would hate to be a judge.  Nate did look terrific though.  He is a much better fighter at 155 imo.

@Crumx I don't think there's anything Condit can learn that prevent him from getting his own ass handed to him by Diaz, don't get me wrong I like Condit and I'd put my money on him even against GSP but not against Diaz it's just not his fight.
