I think I know what affected Penn. It was probably all those shots to the head. Im pretty sure its universally known that taking punches to head is a bad thing. =)

You mean all those shots diaz did not land in the first round?

what do you think gsp liver is made of, STEEL. he is human. he will be hurt and with a bum knee. we have a timetable he will have to fight b/c if he cancels again the media will be all over his butt. expect a combo of serra, penn the first time and hughes the first time. nick diaz truly has no fear to brawl, to take it to the canvas and will take anybody's best shot to land a few of his own. you think those jabs are going top stop diaz. your sadly mistaken.

my quality of watching the fight was not the clearest ill admit, but Penn did take tons of shots, you could tell especially by looking at his face and te way he had to keep moving away from Diaz.

Not in the first. Which is what ive been saying. Diaz was getting beat clearly in the first. He really did npt land anything of signicances in the first against Penn. Penn however was visably tired by the end of the round. He had crap cardio and Diaz took over in the second once Penn gassed. Those shots made penn slower, but again they happened after he had already gassed.

GSP/Diaz and Condit/Ellenberger for next title shot. Makes total sense. It is a bum deal for Carlos, but he was gifted that title shot anyway. Plus I have a feeling Dana threw in a little bonus for Condit to step down.

this is just dana being dana in my opinion, he knows how much more money he can make off of diaz vs gsp. honestly, i'd rather see this fight just like everyone else. but its just not right for them to be able to treat fighters this way. the only thing i can hope is condit got a decent pay day for steppin aside

I would have liked to have seen condit vs diaz, that being the outcome of everything. People wanna see diaz fight GSP, so thats what it comes down to.

Diaz has the shot and beating BJ was enough to convince some people he actually has a chance at winning. Condit hasn't had that one fight where people are really convinced he can beat GSP. You have to know Diaz vs GSP is the much better selling PPV.

The only problem with Diaz vs GSP is it's so much harder to pick who will win. For Condit vs GSP I was 90% sure that GSP would win.

From a money-making standpoint, yes. UFC makes a ton more money with bignamed, bigmouthed, Strikeforce champion Diaz fighting superstar, UFC champion GSP. Even from a fan standpoint, this seems like a more interesting matchup. However, Condit was scheduled and prepping for chance at stardom and to take it away like this seems a little unfair, but if he truly deserves a title shot, then he should easily win his next fight and get a shot later. This whole ordeal will also paint Condit in a good light, and give him a buffer with the UFC, if something bad happens along the road. I wish best of luck to Condit, and hope to see him fight the winner of Diaz/GSP.

Really FresnoMMA. It's not really harder to pick who will win. Condit and Diaz almost have the exact same skill set except Condit has more 1 punch stopping power. Condit is also the more well rounded striker and Diaz has slightly better Jiu-Jitsu but beyond that their skill type is very similar. Both Condit and Diaz have the same problem stopping the TD and neither could stop GSP's TD. I would give Diaz and condit about the same chance of beating GSP. I would have GSP a 85-15 favorite in either fight, and really that big of a favorite over almost any WW.
