Yeah, he's a *************. He blatantly ignores the rules and everyone that has anything to do with MMA is raking this dude over the coals saying it's embarrassing and has no place in the sport, because it is, and it doesn't.

I wonder how hard it is to submit someone that's half blind. Also, Palhares is more than likely on PEDs just to lump that on top of everything else. He's tested hot once before, plus if anyone fails the eye test...come the **** on. I'm not sure he's one of the best BJJ practitioners in the sport he's just freakishly strong and a wizard with joint locks in particular knees. I mean, he's not Jacare, Demian Maia, or Aoki. Tapping Jake Shields is goddamn impressive, but it's tainted because he eye gouged him blatantly for half of a round. I think the main thing that annoys me about Palhares being such a dirty **** is that I used to like him. I love leg lock guys. Big fan of Dean Lister and Marcin Held is one of my favorites out there. Rousimar would be too if he didn't have mental problems. I can understand holding on past the tap. There have been way too many occurrences in the past where a guy taps and the ref doesn't see it, but once the referee is trying to physically pull you off of the guy, maybe let the **** go? I'd like to see fighters come together about an issue (for once) and refuse to take fights with him. Unfortunately that won't happen because fighters have too much pride and I'm sure they'd feel like they were being ******* by turning down a fight. Sefo and Abdel-Aziz have to feel like real *******s for signing this guy. He's basically wrecked shop on the strongest division you have, and now you're in a situation where if you don't suspend and strip possibly the best fighter on your roster you're going to look incompetent, or apathetic to the fact that you have a champion that ignores the rules and gives everyone the middle finger with his actions over and over and over.



Edit: Also, the NSAC are either sadists or they're seriously dumber than dirt to assign Steve Mazzagatti (a guy who has proved over and over he's not qualified for his job) to referee a Palhares fight. What the **** was going through their head when they decided that? The whole situation was a cluster **** from the beginning. None of us on this forum (that I know of) make a living doing anything that involves MMA or combat sports, yet somehow we all knew that was a terrible idea. Someone at the NSAC needs to be held responsible for that decision and they need to explain just what in the **** the thought process was there. Incompetent judging is one thing, but that doesn't put anyone at risk of having their career ended. The decision to assign a multiple time **** up ref to a fight involving a multiple time **** up fighter is just laughable and inexcusable.
