He got in martial arts a little late. He has no martial arts background to speak of outside of picking up mma as a way to stay in shape in the offseason. Off the charts athlete, but how will he handle being bullied? He strikes me as a guy who is used to doing the bullying based on the fact that he mollywhopped his ex girlfriend then lied to police about it. Read the police report.

I think he gets mauled by any hw wrestler with 1/2 way decent striking.

I think at HW He will fine, not very many elite wrestler/grappling guys. Striking is king in that division.

He’s in the best division for his situation. A big, athletic guy who got a late start in MMA but is still relatively young. I think he should spend more time on the Contender Series though. Not to say he’s not talented enough to be in the UFC, he just needs more pro experience. Then again, if Mitrione can do it he could too.

That is true. The separation between the elite at hw and the fighters outside the top 8-10 is a HUGE drop off. It's the biggest separation in any weight class. He will have a few winnable fights, but if he cracks the top ten, all those flaws that he has will get exploited. I think any hw with a ncaa background will tool him. It's going to be tricky because he will eventually run into a specialist. Either a striker, bjj, or wrestler, and the question will be, can he keep the fight where the other guy is uncomfortable.
