MMA gym Brazil

Wanted to go Brazil in the summer to train MMA wanted to know the best mma gyms have spoke to various people who say Brazil is very unsafe . I don't believe all I have heard but just wanted advice From people who have already been to a few gyms.
Would prefer a gym that isn't mainstream and hyped up but as long as the area is fairly decent and local accommodation I'm easy

Well, one thing to consider is that Brazil is roughly the same size as the United States. It's huge.  So you may want to think about what city or part of the country you'd find interesting.

I'm not really sure where to go . I thought some people might of have a clue ... because I don't ! I'm not really that fussed just want to be safe .

I quite like the idea of mannus but have heard mixed things 

I've never been to Brazil, but I do know that Manaus is way the hell in the middle of nowhere. It's a legit city but it's in the jungle, like 500 miles away from the beach.
