Khalid is getting up there and Barnatt has that skinny wirey toughness and good training under his belt now ( can take it to a decision 4 sure ) but I hope Khalifov can punish him and teach him a lesson

Barnatt might not be UFC caliber, but he's generally quite exciting,is imo as good as some of the guys on the UFC roster, and is on a nice little run.If he beat Khalidov (which I doubt) I wouldn't mind seeing him back in the UFC especially considering he's still only 28 yrs old.MW isn't exactly in total need of adding to the roster, and Idk what Barnatt's contracts look like so i'm just speculating and saying my opinion, although pretty much indifferent I wouldn't mind him back in the UFC.

People complain about Khalidov not in the UFC and have for 10 years. They offered him a 20/20 a few years back, are you kidding me?Of course he'll do his own thing and make a ton more, and not have to leave his country. He looked like garbage in his last fight,i'm not going to stick up for that, but the guy belonged in the UFC a long time ago.UFC just sucks at getting good talent, they just grab up all the TUF fighters and guys with undefeated records.
Let's get a few more ****** Cody East's

Still doesn't mean that he shouldn't have gotten a good contract. Hell, look at what Lombard got and how he ended doing, Mamed would have at least helped them crack into the Polish market.
Rooting for the underdog in this one, hard not to.

I think he wants to make money. The ****'s the point of going to the UFC if they'll pay him less to do more work?

Oh really? I had no idea lol sorry the points I brought up flew over your head sir.
-Lower competition, check
-Lower prestige, check
-Lower name value internationally, check
-More money for easier fights, check
-Higher pay, check
So what, is my point, money is the weakest card to play, he could be making good money if he started to win in the UFC, but obviously he's worried he would flounder. He should move the needle and maybe learn English to market himself better perhaps if he wants his padded record, shark in a small pond status to mean ****. But feel free to defend record-padders, I'll root for the real fighters who want a challenge. Think Overeem makes as much as he would in Japan or Glory? **** no.

Overeem made $750,000 win or lose last weekend. He could, but I don't think he'd make more that in Rizin or Glory,I don't think even close. Not to mention possible ppv points, but i'm not sure if he gets those.Either way 750K win or lose is pretty sick.He also had a hefty price tag when he started in the UFC at $386,000 (120K or so in win bonus) ,so he didn't start from scratch.
They offered Khalidov some crappy pay especially for at the time when he was highly ranked.I think $20K .I wish guys would push just to fight the best, but I don't really care if they try to take the easier way or not, that's their business.

It's not the perfect analogy, sure, but the points remain.
But in this context, you're supposed to do the math from when Overeem signed, not now.

KSW is huge in Poland, and he's one of their bigger stars there, so it's not hard to see why he'd prefer to stay there at home making a **** ton of cash more than what the UFC would offer him. He's probably a bigger deal than Joanna there.

It is if you value fighters who want to challenge themselves instead of being record-padders.

Fighters, at the end of the day, are looking to make money to keep themselves afloat, feed their families, etc. Sure, most could want to test themselves and see how well they would do against the best instead of making a lot of money but fighting guys that aren't on their level, but not all think like that. I don't see what's so wrong about Mamed wanting to stay where they're paying him more, it's his body and health that's being put on the line whenever he gets in there. Some want to prove themselves, others want to earn enough money to not end up being bankrupt 2 years after they retire.

Yeah, maybe in MMA, not in boxing or kickboxing where prestige is king.
