To start things off, these are the lengths Israel wil go to for our first (and possibly only, at least until sailing events start) medal in the 2016 summer Olympic games:

This dude was under a lot of pressure to forfeit because competing against Israel is also recognizing Israel.
I'm gonna cut him some slack, the **** that must've been going through his mind at that moment ... he just lost the biggest fight of his life, and to an Israeli of all people.
My guess is, he thought that if he ****** him up he's be "forgiven" and he got beat decisively. My guess is, he was dealing with a lot of emotions and good on him for actually standing up to the extremists and putting his dreams, career and country above stupid religious warmongers.
It may look bad, but it's actually a step forward towards keeping this stupid conflict out of international sporting events that are supposed to celebrate global unity and sportsmanship above all.

It may look bad, but it's actually a step forward towards keeping this stupid conflict out of international sporting events that are supposed to celebrate global unity and sportsmanship above all.
While I agree with you on that, the ratings for the Olympics have dropped tremendously, and I think it's in part because no one takes the rivalries seriously anymore. It's like The Miracle On Ice would have never happened in today's society. And it's a bit ridiculous that American television networks have to be PC and not show bias toward America. Plus they keep picking host countries for Olympic games that are horrendous. There was at least one story about a canoe or kayak (whichever is somehow a sport) hitting a SOFA because the pollution in Brazil is so terrible. I mean, it's a gigantic oil Oligarchy and all their politicians are pretty notoriously corrupt (that does go for pretty much all countries, but still)
