You are right Kuma. It will happen as soon as Stipe's fist touches his chin.

Econoreem is too explosive and athletic, Stipe's hard work can only take him so far.

This fight seems really...weird to me. Like I'm not sure how these guys are going to match up and I never really expected it to happen. I'd probably favor Stipe for looking amazing in his last 3 fights and not having the sort of chin issues Overeem does but who knows what happens in heavyweight MMA. Hopefully there's a funny GIF of the fight result since that's my thing for profile pictures now.

you do know the HW's are the most likely division to get new champs. the REEM does this easily. werdum  played into miocic hands by rushing himself. that won't happen with the new REEM.

I doubt that Overeem could take many direct punches from Stipe.

@Rappinsoda, I agree with you, but on the flip side, Miocic has shown that he can be rocked and stopped by strikes as well. It's far more likely that Miocic stopps Overeem just because of the glass chin alone so for that reason I'm going with Miocic unless Reem can stick and move, maybe even submit Miocic with his underrated jiu jitsu that he barely uses.

@rappinpapsoda That's what people said about Roy Nelson, Arlovski and JDS too, But he handled them. I got Overeem by KO. Should be a good one

I think Miocic will be the first champ in a while to actually put together a decent defense streak. I think he's the guy to do it. Yeah, he's been finished. Yeah, he's been rocked. But I think right now he is on a different level from most of the HW division. The Werdum fight didn't show much because Werdum fought like an absolute idiot, but I still think Miocic can do that to any heavyweight in the world with a clean shot.

Overeem, JDS, Cain. Those are the only 3 who I think have anything for Miocic right now. And even then, I like his chances vs. all 3.

Econoreem doesn't take that many "direct punches" ... that said, when pushed even Econoreem still has gas tank issues and Miocic will push the pace, which however may also leave him open to get slept, Reem usually has some issues finding guys with lesser striking pedigree than him because most of his opponents tend to fight very cautious against him on the feet and wait for him at the end of his gas tank but he's got all the tools to bank on an agressive Miocic and Miocic is most certainly hittable.

Even though I agree Miocic is the favourite with youth (that's relative youth, Miocic ain't no spring chicken, but he's "physically younger" than Overeem, way less wear and tear), upside in his corner, I don't think this is such a blowout as it would've been before Reem went to Jackson-Wink. Also the "his chin won't hold after one solid Miocic punch" swings both ways, so I think it's a pretty pointless thing to say. Both these guys can end and have been ended with one punch.

If Miocic is smart he makes Reem work for a round or two against the fence and then banks on Reem's defense and reflexes detiorating substantially either mid round 2 or round 3 at the latest. If he trieS to to go toe to toe with him on the feet while Reem is still sharp, he can most certainly win, but he's leaving an opening for the only real disadvantage he has in this fight and Alistair's best path to victory.

On the other hand, If I'm Overeem I anticipate this and sharpen up on ways to get his hands around the Miocic's neck when he's trying to do so. Overeem has one of the meanest guillotines in MMA (especially his standing guillotine) and I think that's the area where Miocic is greenest considering his full skillset.

It's hard to say. Lol at Econoreem. I was not surprised that he beat Nelson and Arlovski at all as they as very wild. JDS I was but then again, he has not been the same since the third Cain fight. That being said, my point before was that Reem could not take nany direct Miocic hits. None of those guys above landed many direct punches on him. I feel that Miocic will.
