I can't remember if there was a thread made on this topic since I've been around or not. However, I want to know what (if any) martial arts styles you guys train, or have trained, in. Also, do you have any competitive experience? What are your goals?

I have been training in martial arts for about twelve years in a variety of different systems. I have a background in aikido, arnis, wing chun, muay thai, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and boxing. Currently, I train regularly in muay thai, BJJ, and arnis. I have a brown sash in wing chun, a blue belt in BJJ. I've competed in open martial arts tournaments, submission grappling, and amateur MMA. I also teach defensive tactics to law enforcement in my dept. and the police academy that serves this region. My goals are to continue to compete in MMA and submission grappling, but also branch out to kickboxing and boxing. I also want to someday open my own studio, where I hope to teach martial arts to civilians, but also offer special instruction to military and law enforcement.

I'm interested to see what martial arts we have represented here, and also what type of competitive background you guys have. With a web site like this, I know we've got some students of the game, because the pick percentages floating around are pretty incredible. That shows some in depth, hands on experience with the fight game.

I really want to get into doing some training...especially during the off-season (I play semi-pro football)...I've been to a few BJJ classes and even a 4 hour seminar with Robert Drysdale and did some kick boxing at my old gym...Hopefully soon I'll start doing some consistent training and knowing me I'll end up competing at least once

I have a huge passion for BJJ and Muay Thai. I visited Brasil because of my interest in the Brazilian culture along with BJJ. I was introduced to mma through an x (owns a mma school) and kept his coach along with Grand Master Relson Gracie. I've trained only a limited time in muay thai and bjj. I really want to pursue BJJ when I drop down to one job.

if i had the coin, i'd be training in judo and boxing....i love both of those when done masterfully

@Soccerkick u better get your ass back in to a gym and start training,

I have been training in BJJ for about a year now and I am only a 2 stripe white belt but my instructor did not just hand u strips or belts and its not that easy to move up in rank, I moved so now I have to find a new gym but I am going to get back in to it cause it is a blast. I have also trained in Krav Maga and have an orenge belt, I would like to get back in to it but BJJ has become my only interest for now.

Ive done BJJ and Muay Thai as well as the stuff I learned in the Marines. I competed in one amateur kickboxing match, it was full pad: shin, head,and gloves. that really amounted to 3 rounds of hard sparring but there was a lot of people there watching it was pretty sweet. Right now im hanging out in the unemployment line once I get a job Ill start training again.

nothing serious yet i just train mma in the gym gonna pick it up now and do it properly. I really enjoy it. we do boxing, wrestling and jiu jitsu. I really enjoy every bit of it and learning.

haha, jsut cuz you made up my team name on the google doc doesnt make it true. i use gloves and hand wraps but its the open fingered ones so sometimes the friction causes my knuckles to tear. when punching out of anger, i forget the word technique. when i say girl, it means girlfriend, not daughter.
