Apparently this is the 4th occurrence of a UFC fighter taking 2 fights in the same calendar month (Zuffa era).

Mike Brown - January 2011 (0-2)
Lavar Johnson - May 2012 (1-1)
Dustin Pague - June 2012 (1-1)

Doesn't bode well for Cerrone's chances.

Wasn't within a calender month but Leben had a fight June 19th and then one on July 3rd, he won.

Yeah Leben had that fast turn around against Akiyama and no offense to Akiyama but Ben Henderson is a much tougher opponent and one that has already beat Cerrone twice.

@MikeLovesTacos XD I wouldn't even care if they weren't subtly about it. This matchup has me fired up more than McGregor and Siver.

I'll play devil's advocate here for a second. Even though I too would rather Bendo/Cerrone be the 5 rounder on the card, Cerrone just had a 15 minute fight against Myles Jury like 2 hours ago, so that seems like it would be a bit advantageous to Bendo, even though Cerrone probably wouldn't GAF. Also, Conor has hyped himself into the guy people want to see knock guys out. He made himself that guy who gets main events when he shouldnt. He is now John Cena in that regard.

Cerrone vs Bendo III is a much better fight than Conor vs Siver but it's not a bigger fight, whether and whatever you think of McGregor he's on the verge of something monumental in our sport, especially for a lighter weightclass fighter. Even if he gets embarrassed in a title fight vs Aldo, it will bring more attention than any FW bout in MMA history and hes one of our few key fighters to grow the sport in uncharted areas.

I really enjoy the show of mutual respect these guys show for eachother going into their trilogy. Its a beautiful contrast to the aggressive animosity Conor shows for his opponent/s. I see them going out for some beers after the fight. I give it to Bendo, but won't be surprised if Cerrone pulls it off
