That's one of the most ridiculous arguments I've heard. Body parts falling off isn't a serious health issue now? For that matter, seems like if it fell off in a way it couldn't be reattached it would be risky for a fighter's future.

If the ear fell off, which was a solid prop bet at the time, obviously it would be stopped a la Shigeyuki Ushiyama in PANCRASE.  But if this was Eddie Wineland, not Leslie Smith, the fight definitely would've continued in my opinion.

Don't have to agree with me, I can look at the ear pic and know I'm in the minority.  And I don't think she was ripe for a comeback.  It should've been her choice though as it didn't impede her ability to fight.  A couple checked and approved clearances by doctors from Wineland wins below, a visible skull and then similarly exploded ear, just detached at the top instead of sliced.  Doctor's repeatedly use more caution towards female fighters.  I just don't like the possibly subconscious bias by doctors to handle female fighters more delicately in their fights.  Either of these injuries end Leslie's night by TKO loss, Eddie won both.

That's a valid argument Kpro. It does seem that female fighters are more protected. I wonder if it's because female mma is still frowned upon in some circles.
