I don't get why Bermudez is the favorite in this fight. I don't anything away from Bermudez, but who has Bermudez really beat in comparison to Lamas. Lamas went 5 rounds with Jose Aldo, KO'd Eric Koch, dominated Hatsu Hioki, and submitted Cub Swanson. Bermudez has beaten some great FWs, but none of them compare to the fighters that Lamas has faced and beaten

Well jay, Clay Guida, especially the manner and ease with which he won, is a better win than all but Cub & Lamas didn't take Cub down so much as Cub slipped & was then overconfident. That and the obvious improvement that Bermudez has and still appears to be making may be one reason why he's the favorite.

I still think it's a pick 'em fight tho.

I still don't believe in Bermudez. Guida has nothing left in the tank and can't beat anyone he can't take down and smother anymore. He should have lost to Max Holloway and barely got past Matt Grice. I just don't know. Kids good, no doubt, but I'm not sure he's elite. Lamas' record also doesn't look quite so stellar when you look at it in hindsight (were Koch or Hioki ever really elite? Was he just lucky against Cub?) so it's a bit of a pick 'em fight. I'm going with Lamas because he does have the more proven track record.

Fully agreed with Jaykool. Lamas is the better overall fighter IMO. Bermudez has the advantage in the stand up, and that's about it. Subbing Clay Guida was nice, but Clay is clearly on the downside of his career.

you make good points and you didn't even mention Lamas' KO loss to Iuri Aclantara.

I agree with most of what you said Blind, but Bermudez almost murdered Matt Grice.

Grice almost murdered Bermudez as well. Both were dangerously close to being stopped in that fight.

Bermudez vs. Garza may be the best example of ragdolling someone there is.

At the same time though, mule, if you're going to bring up fights from 4 years ago you have to bring up Bermudez's 3 straight sub losses to Drew Fickett, Jordan Rinaldi (who?) and Brandao who, other than Bermudez, has only beat guys who are now no longer in the UFC.  Both guys have improved wildly since then.

Didn't think Lamas deserved the decision against Dias and do not think he will win tonight.

Oh yeah that Grice fight, I forgot about that I think that's when I started liking Bermudez, or wait. Maybe it was Grice.  **** it, I hope Lamas loses.
