Silva is clearly not in his prime anymore. That being said, Silva by TKO in Round 1 seems to be the safest prediction,,,

Anderson loses, no one thinks he's any less great. Diaz loses, he gets that label of unable to beat the top 5. Of course, no one is gonna fault him for losing to the consensus GOAT in a weight class above.

Kind of depends what side you take.

@amp, I don't think this fight affects either of their legacies ...

Nick's already tagged as awesomeness on a stick but has a defined ceiling (high as it may be) on account of his predictable style, while as Anderson can lose all 9 of his remaining fights and will still be the GOAT. Worse case scenario, he'll be the GOAT that didn't know when to retire :)

Both legacies are pretty much set in stone (and rightfully so) at this point ...

Anderson should win this unless his skillet has gone down substantially.

At first glance I say Silva kills him. Looking at their styles though Diaz can pose some problems for Silva. He is a very accurate striking with an in your face style, not a flail from the outside like Bonnar/Griffin style. Silva has some nasty leg kicks (if he uses them) though which cause big problems for Diaz.

I don't think this is as much a cake walk as it first appears. Still got Silva though.

Too far away and too many things can happen in the mean time to derail this match-up, i will consider this the real deal 5 months from now.

Remember back in the day when the UFC would literally NEVER think about booking a match-up like this?

Yeah. Silva vs Diaz is going to be ****** up though.

Anderson does not have 30+ pounds on Nick. His training weight is 197 for middle weight. Hell when he fought Bonnar he came in at 202 and that was while not dieting at all. Nick cuts from at least 190. So though anderson is larger, there actual weight won't be anything close to 30 plus pound difference.

I'm not sure that Silva's skillet has actually declined mikeyg. I'm a big Diaz fan so I always wanna see him win, but this is gonna be a tough fight for him. I'm hoping he can do it or at the very least that it turns out to be a good fight.

This will be a test of two extremely different striking styles..... Diaz puts pressure on, works a mean pace, and wears people down with wicked body shots - Anderson Silva in his prime is easily the best counter-striker in MMA history. I'm not really sure which style will win, especially in a 5 round fight. Despite different weight classes i think it's going to be a good fight.

Some diaz fans are butt hurt I see, that I am dispelling the myth/excuse they will be using once Anderson destroy's Nick. Sorry folks it not because of some make believe 30 plus pound  advantage, because that does not exist. They will be between 10 pounds of each other on fight night, but Anderson just so much better that why Nick will get destroyed, not because of this mythical 30 plus pound weight advantage.

It's not really a myth that Anderson is bigger than Nick, Franklin but you are a seriously dumb ****. I understand that.
