I just realised that I started 18 years ago when watching UFC 6 on vhs. What year did you start and what event was it?

5 years ago during season 9 of TUF: UK vs USA. It was actually the UFC Undisputed 2009 playable demo that got me interested to watch the sport, and after watching season 9 of TUF I was totally into MMA.

Ha! That'd be awesome ... I'd actually have someone to watch the fights with ... I always picture you guys in your bars or at home with you mates ... you should see me watching the fights, they usually start arount 1:30-2:30am and go on 'till morning (after which I go to work) and I watch the prelims with earphones on my laptop and the main event almost muted on the TV. It's very sad if you think of it :)

I guess that's why I post so much during events ... you guys are basically my fight watching buddies ... now that I think of it, it's very sad :)))

You're a Jew in Tel Aviv who has lived in Japan and the UK. I just can't imagine your life not being cool as kelvin.

I don't remember which event it was, the year was 1997 some of the first fighters I remember watching are Tank Abbott, Don Fry and Vitor Belfort one of the first KO's I remember was Belfort vs Wanderlei.

My spoiled cousin was obsessed with Tank Abbott because he was also fat and thought this was the baddest man on the planet, so he showed me all the early VHS tapes he made because his mom let him order the PPVs. Being a fat ass, he was also obsessed with wraslin' and Ken Shamrock. I had no interest in this stuff because I was 10 years old, I didn't become a big fan until TUF to be honest. Bonnar vs Griffin is GOAT. Then I didn't watch all the backlog PRIDE library until I joined this forum because I heard all you guys talking about it and wanted to know what was up. It was good.

It's a long story... I was flipping through channels one day, and TUF 2 was on (re-runs). It was Rashad vs Keith Jardine. I watched the whole boring fight, and at the time, I thought it was amazing! But I never knew what it was called, so I forgot all about it.
But a little while afterwards, I went into Hooters, and they had a poster up for UFC 106. I watched the even a few days later, and was instantly hooked.

I randomly saw the WEC on tv while flipping through channels when I was about 15. The first fight I can recall watching was Brian Stann vs. Doug Marshall, after that I was hooked but didn't watch anything besides WEC events and replays until a year or so later. First UFC PPV was 100.

At somepoint while I was in college.  My roommates and I would rent VHS tapes from the local store.  That would have been 1996 give or take a year

I can't remember exactly when I started watching, I think it was right around UFC 47 because I remember watching Mir break Sylvia's arm but don't remember watching the events prior to that live so I'm pretty sure that was the first. And I have been hooked ever since then!

Around early-mid 2009. First event I watched was TUF Season 9 Finale, Guida vs Sanchez was the main event and that fight was a war. From then on I fell in love with the sport.

Back when I was a kid I rented one of the first events on vhs from a corner store. I don't remember if it was UFC 1, but they kept talking about how it was banned in most states and there was a big statue outside of the venue. Then I started watching all the time around 98 or 99 and through pirate card days of satellite tv.

The first UFC fight I ever watched was Frank Mir vs Brock Lesnar I, I remember it came on late at night here and I recorded the event on VHS. I was only intrigued to watch the Lesnar fight because I was a WWE fan around that time. Funny enough I saw him tap out really fast and even after that I wasn't really a MMA fan or watching MMA/UFC because I only wanted to see the Lesnar fight and I didn't pursue any interest just yet.

However around March 2009 or April the UFC 2009 demo was released on Playstation. After playing it I grew into the game and played endlessly. I thought to myself to try and watch the real thing to see if I find it interesting. The TUF season between Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson was airing around that time even though I missed a few of the first episodes but I managed to watch the rest of the show by which time I was starting to grow more into the sport of MMA. I was still familiarizing myself with fighters such as Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort etc. I somehow became obsessed with Rampage Jackson and became a HUGE fan and this led me to watching TUF season 10 (my favourite season).

However around that time I still wasn't really watching UFC events at all, I was only reading MMA news every now and then and would sometimes play the UFC game. I only wanted to watch Rampages' fights and events he fought on because he was the only fighter I really had interest for but it all changed at UFC 136 (Edgar vs Maynard III) because that's when I officially started to watch every UFC event that aired from them on and would constantly be involved with not just UFC but MMA in total.
