I like both Hendo and DC, a lot. But I don't like this fight at all. Makes me nervous for Dan. I guess it is a step up from Calvacante for DC, and Hendo wants to stay active.

Other than the Cummins fight, DC hasn't been impressive since he came to the UFC. He doesn't go for finishes a lot. I don't see him stopping Hendo at all. If Hendo connects with one of his big right hands, I see DC hitting the mat. Hendo by TKO!

to ba fair LHW division si not exactly the deepest in the UFC Gustafsson is locked for the title, so is Glover, Rashad is out for now, Shougun just lost, Machida dropped to MW, there´s only Davis and Bader left inside top 10  (Chael in No 8 at LHW is a joke) for **** sake Jimi Manuwa is in the top 10, LHW is just as bad as the HW division if not worse because everybody is dropping to 185 aside from OSP the LHW prospects are Cummins and Latifi.

There's also Lil Nog coming off a win over Rashad.  And Rumble Johnson is back and facing Phil Davis in 3 1/2 weeks.

I really wish Drysdale hadn't pulled out of a UFC fight, then was popped on a random piss test before his next scheduled fight.  He'd turned in his TUE for TRT but the NSAC hadn't said yes yet.  Cut to last month, he was getting all his TRT paperwork ready for his TUE and now TRT TUE's are history.  So he has to stop the treatments, let his body acclimate, and then put in a training camp and debut (barring more unforeseen things).

He isn''t suspended and the UFC didn't cut him.  All told though, it'll likely be near a 2 year layoff before his debut.  He subbed Linderman a year ago from now, and he's at least a half year from a fight.

@kpro you´re right about AJ I completely forgot about him and realizing that makes me a little happier now that he is in the picture again, but I didn´t count lil Nog he is not in top 10, he is not a prospect and he probably won´t fight ever again because of "injuries" he has 3 fights in 3 years and last time he fought was 14 months ago, so I decided to left him out and stand by it

I'm worried that DC is going to get his fighting timeline out of whack with the LHW belt and we're going to miss out on DC's prime against the best in the LHW division.

If the UFC would of tried to squeeze this fight into the UFC 173 card to help pad that PPV card, that would of been much better keeping for the LHW title fight timeline.

Probably not unbeknownst, Jones/Glover will fight Gus in late August or Sepetember. Dc would have waited a year between fights if he was waiting for the title shot. It makes sense for him to take any fight to keep him busy.

I don't think most LHW's would have survived Shogun's onslaught and he was definitely on that night although he got sloppy in the latter rounds. Dan capitalized but didn't look great until then, despite it he overcame adversity like many fights in his career. I'll watch this guy fight anyone, many fighters have had off fights with Machida and he fought Rashad Evans to a split decision in a fight I thought was pretty good.

Both guys are similar in height/reach and wrestling background with Hendo being an Olympian. I think this can actually turn out to be a pretty good fight while other fights work themselves out and Gustafsson most likely earns himself another title shot. Never count Hendo out, but I do think Cormier's training and youth will make the difference here.

Not a chance for Hendo. Not even a puncher's chance; DC is no old, tattered, slow ass shogun that will just stand there hands down.

I have this idea that If they keep giving DC low level competition he will actually become low level.

@blitzkrieg Did you watch Hendo/Shogun II? Dafuqq?

Shogun looked AMAZING, he was fighting at a very high level. He looked like the Shogun who won the UFC title to be quite honest.

The problem with fighting Hendo is that even if he touches you once, it's more than enough. Hendo used a takedown shot to make Shogun drop his hands to defend it and then he came up, turned Shogun and hit him with the Hendo bomb. That isn't a case of Shogun being old and battered up, it was just Hendo using an EXCELLENT technique to knock Shogun down.

The shame is that Hendo probably did it accidentally to be quite honest, this isn't a technical renaissance for the man. He is still, in my eyes, one of the worst strikers in the UFC today.

So, the winner of this is getting a title shot. Interesting...

Phil needs to fight more often and ask for bigger names. I'm fine with the winner of this getting next titty shot.
