I'm a pretty hardcore football fan and since there's a thread for other sports, but not one for football, I thought I'd start one for us to discuss possibly the greatest sport in the world.

If there is one, then forgive me since I haven't seen one.

Feel free to post about any football league from across the world, any major or minor tournaments from across the world or about any transfer window rumors and news.

I know there's various football fans on here, so let the discussion begin.

I'm personally a fan of the sport in general and usually just root for the Spain NT and German NT and I usually watch La Liga mostly and Bundesliga and EPL in smaller dosis and occasionally will watch some Serie A or Ligue 1.

I'm a pretty big fan of Barcelona and have been watching out Bayern Munich since Pep Guardiola left Barça to join them.

Real paid a ton for James iirc. They also wanted Falcao (although they've been pushing for him for a while...), but that never paned out since Monaco said no.

Barca did get Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, Claudio Bravo, Ivan Rakitic, Thomas Vermaelen, Jeremy Mathieu and Luis Suarez who are some very good signings. I'm curious to see what Suarez pulls in Spain.

Some other major transfers that went on where:

Diego Lopez from Real to Milan

Alexis Sanchez from Barca to Arsenal after Barca got Suarez.

Diego Costa from Atleti to Chelsea.

David Luiz from Chelsea to PSG.

Cesc Fabregas from Barca to Chelsea.

Robert Lewandowski from BVB to Bayern.

Keylor Navas from Levante to Real.

Patrice Evra from Man United to Juve.

Memo Ochoa free transfer to Malaga.

Toni Kroos from Bayern to Real.

Demba Ba from Chelsea to Besiktas.

Filipe Luis from Atleti to Chelsea.

Mario Mandzukic from Bayern to Atleti.

Antoine Griezmann from Sociedad to Atleti.

Stefan de Vrij from Feyenoord to Lazio.

Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea to Everton.

Mauricio Isla from Juve to QPR.

Older European guys like David Villa and Frank Lampard have signed with the new New York City FC club which will be making their MLS debut next season. Meanwhile Villa will be playing in Australia and Lampard at Man City.

Also Kaká signed with the Orlando City SC club which will also be making it's debut in the MLS next season. Meanwhile he'll spend his time playing for Sao Paulo.

Busy post WC transfer window... A ton of huge transfers.

Wow, didn't know Milan picked up Lopez, that's not bad. They've picked up Menez and Alex (former Chelsea CB) for free too which is alright. I'm not exactly optimistic about their chances this season but at least they're trying. I guess they're on the verge of signed Armero as well.

Ronaldinho is also looking for a new team at the moment.

I heard some Ronalndinho to NY Red Bulls and Stoke rumors a while ago, but nothing happened.

I wouldn't mind seeing him in the MLS as at least I would get a good chance at seeing him playing live.

Check this out:

I heard Ronaldinho to QPR was a rumor as well lol. Thierry Henry and Ronaldinho are my two favorite footballers ever, if they played on the same team I'd be all over that (Henry is probably retiring this year though, but oh well.)

Haha, I wouldn't call myself a Barca supporter, but yes I like them. I have a poster of their 07-08 team in my room because that's probably my favorite team ever assembled.

Raul Jimenez has been transferred from Club America to Atletico Madrid.

Galatasaray are trying to pick up Lukas Podolski and Joel Campbell from Arsenal.

I really hope Campbell gets a chance at Arsenal. Poldi could leave for all I care but Özil would probably play like crap this season if that happened.

Agreed, Joel is awesome.

Also Real beat Sevilla in the Supercup with a CR7 brace.

Meh. Arsenal always come screeching out the gate but run out of steam.

21 year old American DeAndre Yedlin completed a move from the Sounders to Spurs today. He's spending the rest of this MLS season on loan to Seattle. Promising youngster for us, hopefully he gets a chance there (even though I hate Spurs)

Yoss is correctly, sadly.

I'm mainly curious to see how Alexis does in the EPL.

I think Alexis will be great in the EPL. I imagine he'll work pretty well up front with Giroud and Cazorla if they play a 4-3-3 as they did in the Community Shield game (doubt it), or maybe even take his spot if Wenger decides to play with one striker.

Some UFC/Soccer news:

Urijah Faber just joined the investor group that's bringing a MLS franchise to Sacramento.

http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2014/10/07/sacramento-republic-add-further-investors-including-ufc-star-mls-expansion-p

Sacramento formed the Republic FC this last season and won the USL Pro Cup in their first season, while breaking the attendance record. Sacramento city has already given approval for construction of a new downtown soccer stadium. They're pretty much 99% guaranteed to receive an expansion club.

It's pretty cool that Faber has joined the investment group being somewhat of an icon in Sacramento.

Copa America started a few days ago and... pretty much everyone sucked so far. Argentina and Brazil included. Colombia was awful today, lost to Venezuela. Uruguay had a pretty hard time beating a weak Jamaica...
