He did beat Arlovski although he was a shell of himself.

I don't think Davis gets ko'd. He's too cerebral for that because he'll stick to a gameplan and won't get frustrated to veer off the gameplan. He didn't get ko'd by Gus who has very good boxing

He fought a.very green Gus, Id go as far as.to.say Gus could stop Phil now especially in a 5 rounder. Sticking to a gameplan is only viable if it works, if Rumble can.land a few big shots and.Davis desperate.for the tAkedown early, it will become predictable and.the.KO Will be likely but if Phil can tire Rumble out, mix it up, land tAkedowns at will ect than its his fight. Whatever Rumble hits, he destroys...Phil doesn't effect change with his strikes at all.

True Gus was a lot more green but he's been boxing since he was 10 years old. Davis boxing wouldn't have been as good then either and he's still not great in that department, although he has a good jab.

Rumble ko'ing cans in a lower organisation does not translate into ko'ing Davis who has never been finished. Davis will get the takedown having the superior wrestling, will utilise the jab and won't be sloppy enough to leave openings for a ko.

You should pick Rumble though

Boxing and.punching in MMA are.so vastly.different its insane, Gus is no "boxer" anymore,.anyways.His knees and kicks and.clinch.are.all fantastic, not.to.mention his.takedowns.on Jones.and chokes over guys like Diabate and Te Huna. Also guy uses a lot more footwork than he used.to and keeps an open,.low handed,.wide.handed karate esque/ Dominick.Cruz.esque.style. You're being ignorant just mentioning the."boxing"'thing. You don't see boxers move like Gus  the first two rounds against Jones or use Gus's stance.  Also.he was.22'against Phil? Hes 26 now, he was trainingout of.small Swede gyms, nowbhe trains whenever hed like...also confidence and experience. Amateur boxing hahahahaha,.Lorenz Larkin had an undefeated.promising.amateur boxing career at Heavyweight....with a.base in Kung fu and being called a "muay thai striker" by simpleton MMA fans, also Lorenz is on his way to 170lbs in MMA now. You see how non applicable amateur boxing is to.MMA? Larkin actually knocked out a guy who went onto being a world.champ in pro boxing, forget who though sorry.

Gus vs.Manuwa wil be a lot of fun while lasts.

It's not a matter of.Phil being easy to knockout, more so if Rumble is going to.win a fight it will be by knockout.more likely than not. I think Rumble is.quicker, hits way harder, has more confidence going into the fight and who better to prepare for Phil than with Rashad who shut him down for 25 minutes?

I feel like Rumble will be more confident he can stop the takedown than Phil will be he can mixit up with Rumble. I think Rumble can exploit Phils lead.leg heavy stance and to br quite honest, we haven't see Rumbles ceiling in terms of potential at 205lbs while we.saw.Phil barely squeak by Lil Nog and get shut down by Rashad.

Ps: you.dont have to call fighters cans to express  Phil having fought better competition....

You may be right on how applicable amaeuter boxing is to MMA but it's one thing to consider if you're talking about one guy ko'ing another. That's all. Something to consider in making a pick. I'm well aware Gus is a mixed martial artist

They should have given Rumble someone that isn't ranked so high. He's on a 6 fight win streak yeah but look at those 6 wins. Going from Mike Kyle to Phil Davis is a huge leap. Phil is gonna wear him out for 15 minutes or possibly submit him via anaconda choke in the 2nd or 3rd.

Phil Davis, superb wrestler, 12-1 (1 NC) MMA, 8-1 (1 NC) UFC, only loss to former LHW champion Rashad Evans, only person every to finish Alexander Gustafsson and currently consensus #5 LHW on Tapology is "underrated"?

(btw Rumble is ranked #23)

I think Phil gets a sub here. Another Mr. Wonderful would be nice. Maybe a Pace choke. Nah, but probably a kimura or choke when Rumble's gassed.

I could see Davis winning by anaconda choke again.
